Ellinwood
An F is 0. An inch is at least a D-. The lack of snow is what prevented me from giving this month a F... if we had gotten 4+ from Sunday it would be a F month for me My hometown got 60-70 inches of snow this month... that's too much. Jebman
We only got 2.5 inches snow on the month but the cold was wonderful!! Ground is frozen real good!! Plenty of ice on area ponds. I still have snow on the north exposures of my house. I also still have snowpiles; there are snowpiles at area shopping centers. For snow, since climo for December is about 4 inches, I give Dec 2010 a C+ for snowfall, but I give Dec 2010 an A+ for COLD. We had one high temp of only 24 degrees. Normal high is 46 degrees. We had numerous lows in the teens. Most winters it is tough to see teens for lows until January. WE ALSO MANAGED ONE LOW OF 9 DEGREES this month!! Plus we had plenty of NW winds which I savored during numerous jebwalks!!!

RIC Airport
B+/A- 9.4" of snow, -8.0 departure. What would've made it an full blown A?

MN Transplant
From a meteorological perspective, at least a B+. While the storms missed, the persistent cold was climatologically noteworthy. On a personal level, it is an F. To have this sustained cold and come out of it with less than 2" is a massive fail. And it has been cold, windy, and flat out unpleasant walking the dog. aldie 22
A for cold D- for snow Can't give it an F for snow because even though it was a paltry 2" that's dang near normal for December Big ole fat F for frustration level though
Bob Chill
B- Just couple of inches of snow so that was a bummer but the temp departures and the constant cold was quite unusual. If we have a 5 inch snow on Dec 5th and then normal to above temps I would have rated it lower. I don't see how you can grade this Dec with anything below a C. Midlo Snow Maker
cold A duration of cold A+ amount of snow A days with some snow on the ground A+ overall A
nj2va
C Enjoyed the 2" from the clipper the week before Christmas. Even though we got nothing from the blizzard, it was still fun to track the ups and downs of it all.
Ender
D+ I like wind. If I recall Ellinwood's December forecast correctly, then that was probably as close to an "A" as could/should have been expected given how extreme the month ended up. WinterWxLuvr
D. Just to be honest, if it isn't going to snow, I'd just as soon have it warm.
Kevin Druff
cold A duration of cold A+ amount of snow A days with some snow on the ground A+ overall A I'm pretty much in line with Midlo, but I'd give it an A- for amount of snow. 10 miles north robbed me of an inch of snow. Ian
C- would go lower but we got above avg snow even if it's a tiny amount
Dr No
C. Considering the blowtorch I was led to believe would happen in a strong Nina, this has been a true "winter" month. The wind sucked. If we didnt get screwed by the Boxing Day storm and got the 4-8, it would have been an A.
haudidoody
D-... Freezing cold and windy with only a couple inches of snow; the worst possible combination in winter.
WVclimo
B- I like cold and windy weather in the winter time. Some more snow would've raised the grade.
MidlothianWX
What would've made it an full blown A? If the event on the 16th wasn't a bust, and we had gotten a few more inches from the coastal.
wxmeddler
C+.. The cold over-preformed with a few snow-showers throughout the area. The 26th storm was a close one, so we can't blame that nature didn't throw us a chance for a big one.
mattie g
D Cold and windy sucks. The clipper was the only saving grace.
crainjd
A+ 16 inches of snow during an entire winter would get an A+ from me, let alone in a single month.
notvirga!
C- 2 inches of snow, a few dustings. Very cold. Snow still on the ground but spotty. Very interesting december weather wise. Coldest I remember in some time, at least up until this week. Does anyone have any idea where this december will rank in terms of cold? Would have been nice to get some snow last weekend but oh well. I do not like the cold either, without the snow, but at least it felt like winter and there were a couple good opportunities for snow. Plus we had a white Christmas.
