All i would need would be one on air weather telecast. The girls would love me, and I'd have everyone so fired up and excited that the ratings for the station would off the charts.

The part of the equation you're forgetting is that the vast majority of people rather dislike snow and cold. To be sure you'd probably attract a fair number emotionally disturbed women that would seek you out for your notoriety. My guess is, though, after several years of seedy rendezvous at shabby Motor inns even you would grow restless. Stick to sales, at least you get to meet the occasional normal person.

re: the immediate thread of a few flakes. For me it's a non event. But caveat emptor: Should I awaken to fresh snow of any amount, that is a huge shot across the bow of a major and huge winter. I've only seen this during the winter of 1992-93....after a March fropa that had nothing in the forecast and dumped 6 inches of powder....a winter that yielded 80+ for Boston. Also 1993-94......again after a fropa...much stronger one than tonight's....3 inches unforecasted with temps in the single digits by morning. That winter yielded almost 100 at BOS.

I remember the Jan '94 event...I think it was sometime in the 2nd half of Jan '94. We had briefly torched and the storm was exiting with a very sharp cold front and only a dusting was supposed to occur after it changed to snow, but everyone got a few inches and the next day everything was frozen solid. It was one of those days where the high temp was in the morning...like around 10F and then it fell to around 0F by night.

Is that kind of cold in the works

Yep...that's it.

I think I remember those squalls....I was in Tae-kwon do class when they hit.

I think you're thinking of a separate event.....a vicious 20 minutes that dropped an inch. Temps had risen to the 30s during the day and the squalls ushered in bitter air.....but those 20 minutes were delightful on that Thursday afternoon.

Sort of popping in late to the game here because I read the Taunton AFD. The last thing I expected to see was possible moderate snow early tomorrow due to the warm temperatures. Snow here has been decimated. I'm not sure how badly because I haven't left the house after waking up New Years Day. Even the snowpiles are almost gone now.

I'm still holding onto what would nominally be called a snow cover...probably 2 inches. Piles are in fact way down and that's a relief as filthy as they've gotten...

Held up relatively well, here.
