Ed Lizard
Interesting, look how low the reflectivity is on long range radar, at what must be considerable altitude due to distance and tilt angle. Cloud top temps are reasonably cold, but maybe in Winter a fairly low topped cell can have cold cloud tops.

brettjrob
Quite the nasty couplet over Sunset Hills, heading towards downtown STL. I'm a bit worried that the blanket 50-county TOR for the whole line doesn't effectively convey the danger of an individual circulation like this -- I would think specificity should be employed wherever possible (but at this point, what can they do... issue a TOR within a TOR?). blackjack123
At least SPC does have tornado watches out for several states but I feel like the probabilities could have been a little higher. At least a good solid tornado watch or possibly a PDS. I am also a little surprised that they didnt higher the tornado probs. It kind reminds me somewhat of January 7, 2008. Everyhting was overperforming that day.
