28storms
Pretty strong winds although I don't know if I'd been parked downwind of those trees like that. Winds were still out of the west as the storm was passing just to the north but that didn't stop them from swaying a bit in either direction. BUILDINGS DAMAGED. STILL SEEING POWER FLASHES. That would be my report. I stayed on the phone with the Jackson NWS for a few minutes until they had to seek shelter due to the tornado approaching their office. The trees and billboards were down on the highway, making for a fun little drive as we we're tracking up behind the tornado. Damage extended for about two miles along I-55. I'm assuming that the tornado tracked along the highway and that was not the width of the tornado. We passed through before any emergency crews were on scene and most folks were still going highway speeds with trees and one billboard on the highway. I wouldn't be surprised to hear of more MVA's due to folks driving highway speeds through the debris field.

blackjack123
Dude, there's a "potentially greater than EF3" that will likely be rated EF4 in St. Louis County...and the number of EF3+ is pretty impressive...some of those couplets were indeed really impressive... I think some of those cells on radar yesterday were abour as impressive as the Greensburg cell on May 4, 2007 and the one in OKC on May 3, 1999. Although we most likely had no EF5,s, still EF3 and EF4 tornadoes are still rare and they do deserve their respect.

Yes that probably is at least EF4 damage but that also depends on how well attatched the home was to the foundation. It does not look that impressive but again I cannot tell for I am no structural engineer.
Gorky
With the vehicle still in place and only suffering apparent minor damage, I'd say it'd be unlike to be rated ef4 from that particular structure. Probably not well anchored and just blown away like a mobile home...

blackjack123
A true expected value DoD 9 (170 MPH) should be EF4. I thought that too but NWS in Springfield did not mention whether the homes were of good quality or not. So I was a little bit confused as well when I read there public statement.
