Fozz
If that's a 36" yardstick, this is close to 40" of snow

Redmorninglight
Very impressive. I am surprised the snow fell so orderly that close to the coast. I got about 19" and half my yard is bare grass and the other half is 3-5' drifts! lol.
Ellinwood
If that's a 36" yardstick, this is close to 40" of snow Deceptive camera angle is deceptive... So far max snowfall (official) is 32" in Rathway, NJ (via Cantore).
green tube
Deceptive camera angle is deceptive... So far max snowfall (official) is 32" in Rathway, NJ (via Cantore). perhaps some of the snow was blowing off the guy's roof. one thing for sure, his location at belmar was absolutely crushed with snow between midnight and 4:00am. i only had light snow (20 miles nw of belmar) after midnight and i still managed 20" the video location in belmar probably had at least 30 inches. you can check the obs and radars in new jersey in the early morning hours in this thread... post #250 shows belmar (north jersey coast) getting pummeled w/ 35-40 dbz returns at 2am http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php?/topic/6478-nycphl-dec-26-27-boxing-day-blizzard-part-10/page__st__240

MJW155
I got this video from LC early today. I've had it on my Facebook since 11 or 12. Fantastic video. Insane that this is NJ, LOL. Grew up in Denville and the only storm that comes to mind is the Bizzard of '96 looking at the video. A+++
Don Cherry's Jacket
My memory from December 19, 2009 and February this year is a little hazy, but in my memory that's a faster collection rate than we saw in DC last year. Anyone?

A+++ this is the golden age of big snowstorms in NJ. 2000-2010: ten storms of 10"+ 1970-1999: nine storms of 10"+ (for middlesex county)

It was rare if it didn't happen. But NW of the Rt 80/ Rt 287 corridor was where the action always was.

Mikehobbyst
The magic clock that refuses to get buried. It has risen to the occasion literally. The darn thing kept telling time. Tempus fugit. The clock probably will also handle the epic ZR event that is sure to come eventually and keep telling time encased in thick ice.
NJwinter23
this is the golden age of big snowstorms in NJ. 2000-2010: ten storms of 10"+ 1970-1999: nine storms of 10"+ (for middlesex county) Amazing isn't it? For my area in NW Monmouth, even just a few miles east of you we can tack on a couple more (March 09 and Feb.5-6 10) given the amazing east-bias of these big storms the past 2 years. Actually we've had exactly eleven 10"+ snowstorms now since and including Dec. 2000. Five of them in the past year + 1 week Dec. 30 2000 14" PDII 2003 23" Dec. 5 2003 13" Jan. 22 2005 16" Feb. 12 2006 13" Mar. 1 2009 11" Dec. 19 2009 15" Feb. 5 2010 10" Feb 9 2010 15" Feb 25 2010 12" Dec 26 2010 25" P.S. The person who took the video claims 32" measured in Belmar so the yardstick does make it look a little more.
