West Point, NY
Is there really 6 out there? I was going out, but I wanted to wait until the village plowed, so can just do my loop and be done. If there is that I gotta go. I measured in 3 separate places and it was dead on same ...........
Logan11
And you haven't even seen the main inverted trough snow yet.... That is still focusing over this area as it slowly slides your way. West Point, NY
And you haven't even seen the main inverted trough snow yet.... That is still focusing over this area as it slowly slides your way. Weird as the NWS only gives me 1-2" tonight and less than an inch tomorrow...... I have already surpassed that in the past couple of hours. But yet they keep up the WSW......Update: They just changed it to 2-4"
Logan11
Unless they expect this boundary to really weaken as it moves north. It has refired pretty good of late. Major echoes coming NW out of CT..... Weird as the NWS only gives me 1-2" tonight and less than an inch tomorrow...... I have already surpassed that in the past couple of hours. But yet they keep up the WSW
SchrnLkWx
I drove past Schroon Lake on Tuesday on my way to the courthouse in Elizabethtown. You were having that little clipper at the time. Very little snow for January, but the lake looked pretty frozen. Yeah, before the clipper the oldtimers in town could not remember a January here in Schroon Lake with bare ground, maybe 1980, the Olympic year. North half of the lake has 10-12" ice, lower end just froze this week.
Avid6eek
A solid 4.5" out there now....just over an inch in the last hour alone. I'll be happy if we break the 5" mark. With regards to this weeks potential, as usually the models seem to be all over the place. It'd be nice to get at least one solid hit before the mid-way point through winter. The long range does look promising.

snowgeek
4.25" of gorgeous sparkly snow. Just went for a walk, sled, shovel with my daughter. It's awesome out there. Snowing heavy right now....nice big dendritic aggregates.....probably and inch and hour. Hoping to hit 6".
Tornado Girl
You thinking it will actually be a storm? What time frame is this at on the models? The Southern Low will dive south over Texas and pickup the moisture in the Gulf . The stuff north of that will move East and Dive into the Upper Plains. Both of these will play a role in a possible coastal Tuesday and Wednesday
snowgeek
I'm liking the look of the 84 hour NAM.....nice vigorous shortwave with more ridging out front. I'm feeling pretty good about this one. Let's see what the GOOOFUS shows tonight. Tuesday - Wednesday.
Stash
Right around 5" here at home, with it still coming down pretty good. We'll see how long this band over the area can last. Just another inch an change needed to eclipse last week's coastal.
snowgeek
Radar is liking Alb and Sch counties. I'm also hoping it sticks around for a while. Piling up quick. Must be close to 20 to 1 ratios though. Super easy shoveling. Right around 5" here at home, with it still coming down pretty good. We'll see how long this band over the area can last. Just another inch an change needed to eclipse last week's coastal.
Tornado Girl
Looks like 3 inches here now. When you consider how fluffy this is ...the model qpf was grossly overdone. It kept trimming back with each run and now my guess is that melted down this can't be more than .2" . So best case scenario we get .3" qpf out of this when all is said and done. Snowing moderately right now, but most of the time it is light. I was in some very good stuff down near Hudson/Catskill earlier. They may have ended up with 6 inches. POU had 4" when I left there at 2:30 PM so they probably added another inch anyway. Makes for a fun drive The ratio was fairly high....I took a core and melted it down it ended up being 17-

Ottawa Blizzard
I'm fairly happy with what we got today, which I would estimate is 2-3". West Point, NY
Looks like the heavy banding ( or whats left of it) is realigning across Saratoga Cty and pushing into the GFL area now. The lowering of totals up here earlier this evening by the NWS is a bust while Andy's forecast from this morning will verify with a few unlucky exceptions. I'd love to go out and measure now, but the wife fell asleep on the living room couch and I'd wake her up opening the garage door. I'm guessing that I'm closing in on 8" now

Stash
Up to around 6" and my final measurement for the night. Looks like things are starting to break up on radar, so probably not a great deal of accumulating snow left. Will take a final one early in the morning. Keeping fingers crossed for another round mid week! I just measured 5 inches at 11 PM. Moderate snow continues.... Glad this made a come back for us...... Scratch
the tide is turning my friend....the tide is turning. Let's hope so, because it's been a mind numbing boring winter so far.. At least we had that decent storm back in early December, but since then, not a whole lot.. Here's hoping that things pick up snow quantity wise soon for our area, and that all of us are the benefiary of a nice synoptic system that just buries everyone.. Cheers, Scratch
