Jefflaw77
I've got 23" here in bellport ny! Drifting insane, bare ground in places, chest high drifts in others. Went out to take some video as I saw I was into some yellow on the enhanced 2 loop on radar scope for iPad. Got knocked on my ass as a gust came thru. Large trees swaying. It has sounded like a freight train since 8pm. Anybody else obs from suffolk? Dirty Jerz may take the cake for total official accumulation, but ain't knobody holding a candle to Suffolk cnty for this HECS when it's comes to the wind enhanced aspect to is event.. Yaaah this is without a shadow of a doubt a HISTORIC EAST COAST CYCLONE! Big ups to my alumni weenies up at Amherst College! You have 23" in Bellport, NY- get out of here! LI Xpress
As all things on thus planet are relative.... The core of this system is warm compared to those areas being lambasted with snow! jm1220
Looks like a new band is developing over Suffolk and connecting with an area of enhancement over W CT. That should start to fill in some of the dry patches over eastern NYC and reintensify the snow very soon.

LI Xpress
As I said it was the best avg I could gather given a trace of son on the windward side of the house to up to 40" drifting on the leeward side of the house. But I must say we have had some intense banding spiraling in off mortices since 10pm You have 23" in Bellport, NY- get out of here!

Amped
Radar is showing holes poking through in all directions, is this now ringing itself out? These dying ULL are unpredictable. LI Xpress
If we were to compare this storm pressure wise to a comparable tropical system at these latitudes... Gives the ambient temps in the 20's over land with this things sucking juice over some close to 50 deg water off the gulf stream, speaking in terms of temp gradient this is somewhat warm core, is it not? A look at wv imagery shows a tropical fetch... I know this is not a tropical system and I am playing semantics, but WTF why not stir the pot comparable to how these winds have been stirring my house!
