Not always ....we're on top of a hill so generally do well with elevation type snow. The last couple storms like this though, our totals have been less than tolland.

Yeah but towns like Mansfield, Willington, Vernon always come in with more than you too. Wonder if you're in some sort of semi downslope spot even at 700 feet

This is one to be in Boston for. In retrospect, one has to get close to the mix line but not there to score really well...often the best action is right there and in this case for us it was.

I'm bummed I missed it. I wonder if they had a little more..closer to the CF..how much in Brookline?

I knew this would happen. You'll end up with a 6-10 total I bet.

I think 6" happened already just back a few hundred feet. I had a solid 3-4 slush pile everywhere at 730 and probably 1-3" on top of that. Like I said cannot complain that will put me near 20" for December.

Weren't you thinking you were done last night and rain would be it?

I did, figured maybe some crap left over. This is the snow band from hell, trying to determine if it's OES or storm or both.

The major impact point starts about exit 10 on Rte 3 FWIW....that was the demarcation between a storm and the blizzard. Ironically the nam 1000-850 clown charts hit that pretty well.

Not sure where the busts were? Everyone is approaching double digits with hrs more to go..well except SE Mass of course

Didn't BOX forecast widespread 15-20" in the Blizzard Warning yesterday?

Not sure if that'll happen but still, there's snow on the ground and it looks like winter, so what's to complain about? Not every storm can be '78, just like not every every kid gets to be an astronaut when they grow up... someone's gotta flip the burgers at McD's.

Wish we could have shipped you some of our cold air - you guys would be 10" deeper.

Weird SN- here right now with sun showing.

It was cold, I was in the low to mid 20s for most of it. Only the past few hours did the temps here (mby) come up to upper 20s before settling back. 25.9 now. BOS was mid 20s for the heart of it, briefly went to 32, then mid to upper 20s overnight until this morning where BOS is sitting at 30.

Nice! I'll take fluff over paste any day.

Mother nature flipped something at me for sure!

Seriously, I will remember this event, but will not be for the snow totals. At one point last night, I had most of the inside lights off, and my outside lights on, and from a point in my kitchen, I can see out of 3 sides of my house. It was just white in every direction...

Dendrites would have helped.

This storm is f*king awesome and ridiculous at the same time. While I am impressed with the wind, and some incredible snowfall reports, (30 inches in NJ, and over 2 feet in the White Mountains), the snowfall is extremely erratic. The bands are now separated by huge areas of dry air and I stare at the radar wondering if they will ever come over me by the end of the storm. I think I ended up with about 10, but still not really what I was expecting.

Reading about other people on here, widespread 6-12 inches in central and eastern MA, southern NH, and ME seems to be it. Am I missing something? There are isolated higher amounts, but what the hell happened?

Yeah, I'm thrilled to have enough snow to put the CC skis on and kick around for a few hours. Actually SN here right now with the sun out!

I think disappointment is inevitable when huge totals are predicted.

Usually isolated spots get screwed but there were pretty widespread busts.

I'm very happy to have snow just a little bummed we saw a set up that was a 5 or 10 year type of storm and it underperformed with precip. over a large area.

Good morning guys. I'm sitting here in Southern Wilmington, Mass where it's very windy. Very hard to measure, but... I think the Boston Area, when all is said and done will be in the 16-22" inch range. That was forecasted. the rest will be 10-16" and some who really got the shaft will be inbetween 4-10" when all is said and done by 3:00 PM I think. That's what I've been seeing so far...:snowman:
