Not sure where the busts were? Everyone is approaching double digits with hrs more to go..well except SE Mass of course

Heavy snow here now, 1" in a very short time 830a Epic banding and real good echoes too on the radar.

If I can get under some of those 0-10dbz whiteout snows to my west I should be in great shape later on. They really seem to be able to produce under the radar.

The 6-12/8-16 type forecasts worked out fairly well on average. One of the jackpots in SE NE, they got 17-18" but no reports yet of 20 around easton/foxboro etc. Was close but not quite. Dry slots will bust the higher widespread forecasts every single time NE of them, as Scott said.

Whiteout here now, won't last long but it's piling up wicked.

No reports from MPM, we schooled him on his own backyard, actually they all must be without power but man are they getting crushed. Congrats Jerry!

That band has sagged into the Tolland area , hopefully I can get some more before it drys up.

It's really snowing hard under this band. Should have no problem getting 10- 12 inches. Staffordville had 7.5 at 5:00Am just as I did.. We've both probably had another 1.5-2.0 since then

Not sure the last time I saw anything like this oddball wrt bands

You get close to 20", I get close to 8 or 9" if I'm lucky

No kidding. I have 6.3". I'd have guessed 15+ given track and intensity.

The winds are the best for any storm I've had here -- gusts over 40 all night long. I just wish the snows would be on par with that.

I never share the jackpot with anyone but once in awhile...one gets lucky. HECS looking here with deep and drifted snow and still steady lt snow with another band trying to organize and set up. It's not out of the question for BOS to end up with 20 but probably just short. Let's get you some more dumping!

This is like a 3/2/09 redux for me...was expecting over a foot, woke up to 9'' because of a dry slot from hell (for different reasons).

Just got in from a walk n shovel. Wow what great conditions. heavy heavy with winds. Took about 20 measurements low of 8 high of 11. most frequent was 9. several 9.5 and 10s right before I came in. Been in for 20 minutes so I will go with 10 inches now and snowing hard. 12 was my over under on this storm.

So where do you guys think the best banding and deformation sets up the rest of the morning? I am under the one that is coming down from northern me but it seems to be degrading a bit on the western side.

Weren't you thinking you were done last night and rain would be it?

Springfield area NOT EVEN CLOSE TO DOUBLE DIGITS regardless of what anyone posts..perhaps closing in on half a foot and that is very generous!!!!!

A lot of areas are not even close but that won't stop the reports because it's tough to measure and people expected 1-2'. It's nothing deliberate but when we compare these storms to those in the 50's and 60's when mostly official stations/airports were used....Boston's total stands out as does KTAN because they're not usually on the high side and this was pretty incredible for them.

It was plenty cold aloft and with a bombing low to the southeast..Ageostrophic flow FTW.

Looking at 8h, the warm donut at the center of the storm - probably not the best indicator for strong snow generating dynamics as it turns out.

3 hours of this snow right here now would produce 10" to bad it will end soon unless it is OES under the higher echoes, not abating at all temp down to 30.6 so everything flash froze...nightmare
