like I said, this is definitely not run of the mill. I've seen obs in my old stomping grounds that rival those in the biggest storms ever.

Keep dreaming. There are storms that actually ARE better than this, that didn't do this shredded stuff.

It's a great experience, yes. It's a regional all-inclusive festival, no.

Awesome! Just got back into the western edge of the band here in the Hudson Valley just south of Albany... fookin' ripping snow right now. Hopefully this will slowly continue to edge westward a couple miles and sit, haha. I'm going to be amazed if we do as well or better than ORH county given the overall set-up.

Ok, I'm calling you out....you have this fetish for ORH doing as bad as they can in events. I've seen you post about this now maybe half a dozen times in the past 6 hours.

You can admit it now, and I'll just laugh. Otherwise you are just hiding an obvious fetish of your ever since I told you that a large population of SNE doesn't care about upslope snowfall events in N VT.

also I suggest some people here take some meteorology classes who are complaining about the models and the QPF. YOU CANNOT TAKE THEM LITERALLY. You can merely use them to average what will fall over an area. Just because you see shading doesn't mean anything! You need to look at high res stuff and see the graininess in the precip fields to see who will do the best...look below, see the lower totals in CT and central MA...it nailed it and I bet noone even considered it. If those areas get 7-12 inches of snow that model verifies with a 10:1 or 12:1 ratio so dont blame it on the models.

Anytime you get over a foot of snow in the 7th largest Metropolitan area in the country it's a big story. And the blizzard occurring on the Jersey Shore is historic. But for many of areas of SNE this is a run of the mill Nor'easter. In Newport I had a fairly typical 4-7 inch front-end thump before the tried and true change to rain, and even though wind gusts a hare over 50 for a period of several hours is a bit out of the ordinary, it hasn't knocked out power nor has it done any damage. HYPE is the word out of the day I'll be hearing around here tomorrow, and these people will care less about all the snow in Boston and Sandy Hook.

No storm is truly equal opportunity distributor, but this one is screwing zones that dont usually get screwed.. Certainly a strange winter storm... For those its being good to, its being very very good.. But there are a large number getting a relative screwing, and alot of these folks are in areas not used to receiving a screwing in a setup such as this one was progged to be.

It's very hard to hear the radio right now.. street names are tough to catch.. they talk quick and for whatever reason my radio is insanely statickyy...

Units coming in now saying they can't even make it to calls....

Alright, thanks for trying lol...I know what's it like to try and get info when it's busy...hard to keep up and sometimes they aren't very clear regarding location either.

Huh? Show me when? I posted once that the dry hole might be making it towards ORH when I posted a radar image. Other than that, the above post was more referencing HubbDave in ORH county saying he only had 5-6" or so a little while ago (he does live in ORH county, no?). Also, I don't think Tip lives in ORH county but he's close and only at 5.5", too.

Will, I honestly can't remember mentioning ORH other than those two posts in the last two days except to say that I thought you guys would jackpot on a NE wind. I know you get a ton of snow in most storms... no argument there. And I'm sure YOU will do better than me near the airport in ORH. Its a big county.. and I was more thinking the northern end of it.

Sorry dude.

I agree with him John, I think your judgement is completely clouded by the fact that part of the region is getting screwed....this is an impressive storm.

I agree...but the fact that the expanse of major snows has not been very expansive does detract from it considering a winter wx enthusiast's perspective.
