MaineJayhawk
NAM bufkit profile for GYX says we peak at 50-55 mph up here later tonight and lasting through much of tmrw. The soundings seem to to be verifying well to this point... so it could get pretty damn nasty. If the nam isn't totally on crack, it says we have 20-30 microbars in the sgz between roughly 3 and 7 am...that spells 1 to 2" per hour rates coinciding with those winds. Sweet! I hope my power holds ... though at these wind speeds that's a pipe dream. Not sure of my accums. Measured out the door a bit ago at 2.5" but it was right next to the house and I could see deeper areas on the deck rail. Hella windy out here. OSUmetstud
Just measured...ton of drifting....12" to 4"...but 6s and 7s were most common so I'll go with 6.5" Will what are you thoughts about the drying progressing from the southwest of you and I? 40/70 Benchmark
I'm in south Wilmington, Mass and have ablut 8" now (Jacquith ROAD) as of 11:15PM. Jesus, I only have 6". I buy it, though....this is a mini-Dec 2003 screwgie for me. I'll bet my dad in Woburn center has 9-10" already.

ORH_wxman
Will what are you thoughts about the drying progressing from the southwest of you and I? I think we'll stay mostly in the good stuff...it could try to sneak into our area at times, esp over the next 2-3 hours....but its going to be progressively shunted south as the night goes along and the 7h low deepens....we should try and see some of the moisture to the E and NE wrap back SW around that center. Cold Miser
LMAO!!!! Hopefully that emptiness fills in. While I am in Western, Ma right now, my town is in that blank zone that Tolland is in as well. Haven't seen Steve (Ginx) post on here so my guess is that we aren't getting much accum. right now. Any one else in Windham county able to confirm what's going on?

leesun
So I thought we found new ways last year to get shut out South coast of CT got 2 ft in Dec 09 and we got 1" here in the valley. Let us not forget NYC getting 2ft and we had rain. Most of NE got screwed in that one. This year we find new ways. Poor dendrites and dry slot from hell. Such is life in the CT valley
weathafella
We've been weenieing constantly for this storm for over a week. it's really a great event but when it's over, I'm flying to Chicago (not tomorrow...that's canceled) and generally resting before the next threat. Something like this won't come around for a spell.
mostman
Looks like 7" for me. Like I said earlier though - almost impossible to measure. Part of my yard has 0. Seriously. Grass. Another part has 14". Average was about 7 though.
DomNH
I said that the west edge may have trouble getting there. Yeah, I saw, but that was near ORE, not here. I love Matt Noyes, but I don't know about that 18-24'' map he's still showing.
NB-Weather
Tough to measure, but seems like average is around 8 inches. Controlled area didn't work out too well.... haha

DomNH
FWIW, radar down to 10-15dBZ in between bands here, but I'm still rip rip ripping away.
powderfreak
RUC is in for a 3-some because I'm about to bang it, too RUC got ripped all afternoon by everyone on here.. Will said it was a horrific model outside of the first 3-5 hours or so, lol. It did seem to nail the heavier bands in E.NY though, but its western edge was a bit too large. weatherwiz
This radar sucks...I'm about ready to just go stand under a tree and hope the wind blows it down...but with my luck the damn tree will just fall the opposite way of where I'm standing. It did seem to nail the heavier bands in E.NY though, but its western edge was a bit too large. It brought the huge banding well up and past ALB....so yeah, it did a terrible job. It also changed me over to nearly rain with the 850 0C line. RUC did not do well. Mesoscale models like the MM5 and SREF did well.
Clinch Leatherwood
Some awful looking dry slots and the band seems to be shrinking in from the west. What gives? You'll be fine stop worrying but you're possibly seeing the edge of where the heavy stuff ends up. Someone who knows what they are doing in the randolph stoughton canton easton sharon area measured about 15" a short time ago. Not saying where as I don't want it to end up as an official second hand report. I know it's a great report, but it is what it is.
