H2Otown_WX
Ratios have gotten worse as the storm progresses...the temperature has actually been rising I'm up to 24.3. There's moderate snow (tough to say because of the wind) but I only have 4.5" and I had 3" 3 hours ago.
amarshall
first snowblowing of the evening done. About 7" in Quincy. Set a new yearly wind gust high at 28 mph on my Davis. (I got in Sep and it's in a bad wind spot) I blowing well beyond that.
dendrite
model watching is done, but 00Z nam is west and juiced up compared to 18z The 00z NAM goes bonkers up here.
Baroclinic Zone
The snow I've received already reminds me of a SWFE where you thump for several hours, change over to sleet/ra than dryslot. We get the added benefit of a low bombing out S of ACK that will bring a CCB of snow back into the BOS Metro area.
weatherwiz
Tough measurement here bc of the wind. 3.1" is what I came up with. As someone else said, w/ the snowfall rates, I would have though to have much more but snow growth has not been good Yeah this is a pain in the fanny to measure. I've just been taking several measurements all around but surprisingly when I do so I get about the same each time I stick my ruler in some place new. 40/70 Benchmark
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not???? Moderate snow 18F 3/4" so far up here Both...I'm legitimately concerned, but probably overreacting....when I get frustrated, my post\thought ratio is not very favorable. SamAdams76
Here in Chelmsford, MA, the heavy bands have not worked in yet. It started snowing at 3:31PM this afternoon and as of 7:45PM (when I went out to shovel), we had only three inches on the ground with a temperature of 23.4 degrees. After the shoveling, took my dog around the neighborhood for a walk. It was a very Christmasy scene, with the Christmas lights lit up and the fresh snow on the ground, glimmering like diamonds under the streetlights. I plan to go back out to shovel again after 11PM and then again at 5 in the morning. While we are in line to get 15-20 inches here, it just doesn't have the feel of a blizzard...at least not yet. Instead, it has the feel of a routine snowstorm in these parts. The roads are nicely plowed and sanded and driving doesn't look to be all that bad out there. wxeyeNH
The 00z NAM goes bonkers up here. I was frankly worried after GFS and NAM cut amounts but its really cranking outside, good snow growth moderate to large aggragates. Funny just no wind! I am snowing at a rate of over 1" per hour. mattlacroix4
So the ratios are even higher here just northwest of Portland, ME than I thought they would be. We have 3 inches so far or so of the lightest snow I have seen in a long time, you can blow it away. I would venture to guess about 20-1 right now. I think that may raise amounts..
