If the CF pushes a little more northwest (Which I don't expect) I might have pushed that 10-15 IMBY, but so far I'm just barely on the right side. I think the map looks perfect as of now

It's starting to become pretty clear that this is not going to be in the 1st class deal that we thought it was; I'm sure this post will draw some crticism, but it is what it is....probably a nice 7-14" event, but nothing crazy.

Have the same impression so far but hope to be surprised... Jan 2005 did have it's share of meandering coastal fronts and dry spots, but bands overnight more than compensated. Also, looks like reports from south of Boston are impressive. On the other hand, the fact that Messenger etc. raised this concern from models before showtime tells me the underperformance is legit...

And let's not forget the call that the SnowNH guy made on the "V" issue lol

Snow

windy

Great storm

Best flakes of the night oddly enough, one of the strangest storms I have ever witnessed.

I'll second that. Really fun. Just heard snowmobiles screaming down the main road for the first time this season. They'll be at it through the night as the town will quit plowing within the hour. It's a party here on the East Slope. Yeeeeehawww! lol

I'm not pulling the plug, but I do think it is off to a relatively slow start

I do tend to overreact and I admit that, but what I also do is admit when I am wrong and I will if that is the case.

You, nooooo....

I hope it picks up for you of all people.

But it is so far a "nice" event, as you said. Setting us up for the March BECS

The driest it will get is right now.. I mean check out wv the storm is coming east and the dry slot should be south and east of here

The ML center tries to rip a hole in the atmpsphere somewhere SE of LI and S of Block Island and eventually over toward ACK...that will tend to tuck the better CCB snows back in toward the center as it does that, so we should see stuff get a little better organized as the night goes on....esp from BOS-PVD northwestward.

Its not an easy storm to forecast, but Scott (coastalwx and I) were talking about this exact scenario on the phone earlier this afternoon where it might look mildly ugly this evening for a brief time and everyone would start hanging themselves.

Also if you were EXPECTING 20"+, then shame on you...it can still definitely happen, but never actually expect that much. When this is done, the people who stayed all or mostly snow should all be in double digits and many will be well over that threshold.

Maybe some 12.1"ers... 20"+ might be a stretch...

Hopefully 10PM-8AM it pounds That is still a long time

This will be brutal to snowblow in... still gusting and pretty cold.

I got a new (old) snowblower this year a 2005 Toro with the protective canopy should be interesting to see how it works with the wind. I'm afraid the front shield will get covered in snow and water and freeze up rendering it useless.

Barre, Hubbardston, Keene, Winchendon are all doing pretty poorly from what I've read...

Maybe when the wind turns a little it will improve. Lots of snow, but no real growth...

Well, at least we have another 12-15 hours to go.

Maybe I will get to 6" by then

Weird! Usually I'm the one jealous of all those spots.

Great snow growth here in the N. Ct Valley right now. Nice size flakes.

SN/SN+ 19/17

I'll measure in a bit.

I really think this one might get close to 20 if this CF stays overhead.. snows matching the heaviest ive seen have been rotting overhead for an hour or two now.

Ray might be royally fooked though if this thing stays where it is.

Lol...the conflicting reports on here are kind of funny.

I think a lot of people's tunes will change in a few hours.

I don't get it?

Are they not seeing what is so apparent. I'm not expecting (all out blitz) this to get going till after midnight. Movement of the banding and with each impulse getting orientation to align perfectly. Could be wrong but I've seen enough to know. The convective nature of the elements are of concern, lets see.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not????

Moderate snow 18F 3/4" so far up here

Tough measurement here bc of the wind. 3.1" is what I came up with. As someone else said, w/ the snowfall rates, I would have though to have much more but snow growth has not been good

It's freaking AWESOME outside...measured about 4.5'' of snow but the winds...just wow. I had to walk backwards going back to my house, remember I have to go measure in neighbor's yards. I don't have boots either so my feet are frozen.
