dendrite
Hour 2 of verified blizzard conditions for PVD: METAR KPVD 262251Z 02022G34KT 1/4SM R05/1600V2200FT SN FZFG VV001 M05/M06 A2945 RMK AO2 PK WND 02038/2227 TWR VIS 3/4 PRESFR SLP971 P0002 T10501056 $ Can they make it official next hour? They had quite a few lulls to 3/4SM in between the 1/4SM obs. Technically you want < 1/4SM, but ASOS struggles to report that so in my mind I always count 1/4SM but I like to see it for 4 straight hourlies with nothing higher than 1/4SM in between. Meeting blizzard criteria is a bit vague though. I mean what constitutes "frequent" gusts >= 35mph? I think it's safe to call this a blizzard though. weatherwiz
My biggest concern right now is measuring the snow lol...my area is not great for accurate totals and with the wind the accuracy is probably to be further expected. My house is loaded with trees...I could go into neighbors yards but alot of them have trees or some sort of obstruction...I could measure on the sidewalk I suppose but not sure how much that will affect accuracy, I won't be able to do this when the plows go through though. ROOSTA
Seems to be organizing.. dry slot filling seems to be evidence that things are getting stacked Sorry Jay but not by any map I'm looking at. SPC still has the H5 as a broad area with the trof still sharpening vorts rounding the base and 600 miles inbetween. The surface L is still bombing. Wait till we start getting the bands moving in from the E.

Yeah I'm expecting a ton of weenie inaccurate measurements....usually the best way to do it in wind this bad is try and take an average...but I'm sure we'll have some drift measurements.
