gkrangers
Can't ever remember these types of snow rates for this long with these winds...this is unreal. Winds gusting into the 30's and 40's the past four hours. This coulda been a 30" incher if not for the wind!

Drz1111
Lights on the building 3 n-s city blocks away from me (0.3 mi) are winking in and out of view as waves of snow cascade down from the sky. Meanwhile, the whole city is lit with the pinkish orange glow of sodium vapor lights diffused by the falling snow, and every so often blue flashes of lightning break the glow. Oh yeah, and winds are easily gusting to 40. This is freaking wild.
ag3
I can't see 100 feet in front of me. Hardest snow since probably 1996 for me in Queens. Insane.

_AR_
How much snow do you have? Haven't bothered to measure. Last time I checked I estimated 1.5" but it's just blowing around so much it looks like a half inch total.

yanksfan6129
Wow, look at this projected gradient. I can attest to the accuracy of it too. I'm on the eastern side of I-287 in Morris County (north Jersey), just north of I-80. This map puts me squarely in 14 inch territory...but with the current band that is right above me, shouldn't I be getting more? I already have almost a foot of snow on the ground. The gradient may be tight, but it may be further west.

jm1220
How much snow do you think you have? I honestly have no clue. It's hard to account for roof blowoff and drifts. I'd estimate over 10" now. It has to be coming down at 1-2" per hour easily though. Still practically no visibility and JFK actually reported zero visibility this hour and gusts to 48 mph!!!
