earthlight
hey earthlight is it me or does it look like a deformation band is trying to form over central long island too? It's trying, but the support for the deformation banding that doesn't move is back a little to your west.

jwilson
Is this the heaviest Kocin event ever during a strong/moderate La Niña? I would say no. There have been 7 events of more than 10" over 14 winters of Moderate to Strong La Nina, with 6 of those events being in strong La Nina phases. I think it is unlikely we reach 10" but still may be possible. It could be the most intense storm to hit NY and BOS but for down here I would say it isn't. johnc
Some idiot spotter reported 8.5" here. An hour ago. (down here we're just getting jack)

You guys are in for it big time, and my backyard is still under the gun. Would love to measure, but it's impossible. I can guess about 3-4" per hour here in Clifton...heading west.
