Algorithms
My favorite storm ever. Still absolutely pouring. Blizzard conditions going on two hours straight. x2 Currently in coastal nj (ocean county), and we have been getting slammed. This is by far the greatest winter storm I have ever experienced in this area. This is what a true Blizzard feels like. Really amazing that just a few days ago, this was looking like an out to sea storm for everyone. There is some truth to Christmas miracles, even if they come a day late. This is one for the books, and one that many, including myself, will never forget. Enjoy the snow guys!

blizzardlover
NE Queens is shaft zone central right now Certain areas to the S & W of Philly didn't exactly get their precip projections. NW DE, Chesco, Delco, etc were forecast to get anywhere from 8-16" and have had maybe 1-2" so far. Baltimore and DC were under warnings that totally failed to materialize and were downgraded. dbc
Craziness out there here on the cliffs of the Palisades. Blizzard conditions easily. Lightning was frequent earlier this evening. No clue how much we have as it is too dangerous to go outside in my opinion. Got to be a foot easily.
JBG
Yeah this will be well short of historic for our area. Even last year I didn't see any numbers close to '96, despite what the official PHL measurements say. The gradients were extreme. Did DC-Baltimore beat their records? Is this the heaviest Kocin event ever during a strong/moderate La Niña?

dbc
LGA, EWR, JFK are all around 6-8 inches Sounds low to me. Perhaps being just a bit north and east of EWR has yielded more than that thus far. Any report for TEB?

A-L-E-X
LGA, EWR, JFK are all around 6-8 inches Probably not going to be very accurate with that rooftop measuring technique that Will told us they use lol. Feb 1978 amt of 14" seems to be wildly off, as well as some of the events from the past 2-3 seasons, including one where JFK measured 0.8 inches and we had snow plows out here with like 4 inches of snow (and Im 5 miles from there) and the windy 3/09 storm where there many reports of 10-12 inches in this area. It's ok though, doesnt take much away from the magnificence of this storm
