jm1220
Yep,that's exactly what I am experiencing here right now. That band really means business!!! Just incredible snow falling right now. This easily rivals 12/19's snow here.
earthlight
1.50" liquid on the RUC through 09z tomorrow morning in NE NJ, NJ shore, NYC.
CoastalWx
Absolutely nuts as far as deformation goes. The frontogenic forcing is going through the roof right now. Absolutely unreal display of dynamics. Areas in NE NJ/NYC/Western LI are going to see thundersnow and blizzard conditions for the next few hours. It's only a matter of time before there's thunder in this band. Yeah wouldn't be shocked. We actually have some TSSN rptd by KTAN area.
Organizing Low
Dude..this is an all time type storm. There's some semblance of a coastal front developing. The conditions here are absolutely the worse since Feb 06 and are rivaling that easily. i was in Manhattan under the TSSN in 06! i looked at the weather maps and models and had a feeling this would be worse. congrats! jm1220
I think I hear sleet pounding my windows but Im not sure-- the visibility is close to zero outside and the wind is blowing so hard I dont know if its snow pounding my windows really hard. Usually in sleet, visibility goes up-- right now visibility is about as close to 0 as it ever gets. There were definitely snow grains and pellets/rimed flakes here too. I'm not having it anymore so I have to believe it was just temporary.
earthlight
Is it the wind this time around? Let it be known that mid level lows and defomation/frontogenesis are king. You should all build statues for them. It's the wind and the snow rates..I have never seen anything like it. The deformation/frontogenesis is through the roof right now and it's going to rot over the same areas for the next few hours.

So thats not sleet here then either-- it's pounding my windows so hard, I couldnt tell, except the visibility is 0 so I dont think its sleet-- I think its really fine snow + 60 mph winds lol. Voyager
Dude..this is an all time type storm. There's some semblance of a coastal front developing. YoRyz
I was implying a NYC Metro sub-board and a PHL Metro sub-board. Shouldn't have used thread. We might do that at some point...it depends on how busy the separated subforums would be. Ours is already the smallest by geography on the board, although I suspect we carry a disproportionate number of members here too.

Is this sleet or some formation of snow? See it bouncing off my car. This is one hell of a band.
