simpsonsbuff
NW Bronx: 24 / 24, what looks to be moderate snow (or just snow) from outside my window. I don't have a measurement due to food sickness... which if nothing else has meant that i've been not sleeping very much over the past 24 hours. And yeah, this is the hardest the snow has come down all day, even though the "band" is just to our west. The flakes are bigger now...better snow growth, it looks like. Beautiful. RU848789
Started snowing lightly here in the Edison area around 10:45 am; took about 3 hours to get our first half inch, but snow has picked up considerably in intensity the past hour with about an inch falling, bringing us to about 1.5" on the ground as of about 2:45 pm. Temps around 24F. Radar looks like we have a very heavy band aimed right at us. Love it. Just got back from food shopping (an excuse to go out in the snow, lol) and it wasn't too crowded, surprisingly. With temps in the mid-20s, everything is sticking even on the highways, and conditions are pretty slick, but not terrible (huge difference from my ride home last night from NC, where there was heavy snow, but temps of 31-32F meant that accumulations on the major highways were minimal). Yet. Will be soon, I think. Think tonight is a good night for a walk from our house into downtown Metuchen (about 3/8 of a mile) for some beers and grub at the local pub (Hailey's which is a decent Irish pub if you're from the area), especially since I'm off from work all week.
