Does anyone have the latest liquid equivalent that fell in all 3 locations? Somehow JFK only recorded 0.6" QPF--- icicles hanging more than a foot from my roof say differently-- can't really see how this could have been 0.6" qpf lol
Zelocita Weather
Somehow JFK only recorded 0.6" QPF--- icicles hanging more than a foot from my roof say differently-- can't really see how this could have been 0.6" qpf lol Ended with 22.5", 5 Foot drifts or so, cars buried, drifts up to 3/4 the height of front doors, 3 abandoned vehicles on my 1/3 mile walk downtown. This storm moved ahead of 2003, and very close with a tie for 1996 for me.

A-L-E-X
You sure? I think .60" might be from midnight until now. Or just up to midnight last night. SG posted the numbers... I'll repost them. This is going to be interesting in terms of how these numbers came about. BTW check out the other thread-- multiple posters from Brooklyn and Staten Island reporting 24 inches + and so they must have been on the megaband that hit NJ which should have NYC at more than 13 inches since theyre at the same longitude as Brooklyn (approx.) Anyway the ABC dude also said the numbers were low and said that the area they measure in makes it difficult to be accurate-- something we knew anyway lol. A-L-E-X
You sure? I think .60" might be from midnight until now. Or just up to midnight last night. AL, just found it: Liquid equivalents 1.23 to 17.7 at Newark 0.64 to 10.4 at JFK 0.75 to 10.2 at LGA 1.09 to 12.0 at NYC 0.81 to 11.3 at Islip and this from JConsor Something is up with either the liquid equivalent or snowfall at Central Park. Islip has seen a 14:1 ratio so far, and they are much closer to the warmer air at the surface and aloft. JFK had a 16:1 ratio, and LGA a 13.6 to 1 ratio. .RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM LIQUID EQUIVALENT SET AT ISLIP NY... A RECORD RAINFALL OF 0.81 INCHES WAS SET AT ISLIP NY YESTERDAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 0.79 SET IN 2009. ...RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM SNOWFALL SET AT ISLIP NY... A RECORD SNOWFALL OF 11.3 INCHES WAS SET AT ISLIP NY YESTERDAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 1 SET IN 2004.
Alpha5
Cleaned up nicely in SW CT with 14". Although I missed out on that mega band to the west in NJ, there was still enough to push me over the 12" mark. 06 still had more snow, but the winds with this one were insane. I think HPN had a gust of 67 mph!
Isotherm
25" total in Colts Neck, Monmouth County! Second only to the 96 Blizzard, and December 1947, which were both 30" events in this area. Amazing.
NorthNJwx
22.0" in Oakland, NJ. Peak wind gust of 40 mph. This was definitely off the charts. Two periods of the storm stand out to me in particular: the extreme band with near 0 vis heavy snow and gusts to 34 last evening, and the very strong winds that developed in the early morning hours and continue now. What a storm!

A-L-E-X
25" total in Colts Neck, Monmouth County! Second only to the 96 Blizzard, and December 1947, which were both 30" events in this area. Amazing. I just heard from 3 spotters in Staten Island and SW Brooklyn and they all reported 24-25 inches of snow, so it looks like the southern part of the city got in on that. We were on the outer fringe and managed 18-20 inches.... wish it could have been like Feb 83 or PD2 where the wealth was shared The last snow snowers are moving through now-- 24 hrs and 30 min after it all started! Stormlover74
the models showed the heaviest bands setting up SW to NE from the Jersey shore up into LI but instead it was oriented more N/S west of the city. Most of the 20-32" amounts reported were in this band. In some cases just 50 miles west had a quarter of these amounts wide range of amounts....there was intense banding last nite, a few potent ones over the tri state. its was sort of LES like. 5-10miles you can get drastic differences. really intense. LocoAko
Final total here in Jersey City, NJ: 26.0. Just insane drifting outside. I can't remember seeing anything like this. A-L-E-X
ABC is interviewing people live on the air from the 5 boroughs who were trapped in cars, buses, etc, with their families since early last evening and they said emergency responders arent responding, so they are trying to get help from the media. This seems to be shockingly widespread.
jm1220
Estimating a final total around 20-21 inches. Very hard to tell because of drifting though. My backyard has much more than that in it, but tons of snow blew off the roof of my house to get it there. That snow from around 2:30am to after 5am was INSANE, and must have added at least 3-4", maybe even 5".

NYC got hit really hard around midnight-1am, when it was light to mod here. Also they got into a little more of the deformation banding when we were in the more showery snow. I actually think the worst of the storm here was that 2:30-5:30 period this AM.
