has to be more- I shoveled a solid 4" at 430 and came home and shoveled at least 12" maybe more

Its hard to measure because of these howling winds. I can tell you one thing though-- this is more snow than we have gotten in any of the storms last season! Easily! With many more inches to go lol

Ace, you might be right. I haven't done the "snowboard" method, but perhaps if I did, I would have gotten more. I measured about a foot in my side yard 20 minutes ago, so we've probably just passed a foot by the old fashioned measuring technique. You and ALEX probably should be a tad ahead of me since you guys are 5 miles west of me.

I'm amazed at this band that continues to move W through my area...when the earlier band started to shift E, I never expected another!

Winds picking up here again after an odd lull of a couple hours. Snow continues heavily with probably close to 18" on the ground...will measure at midnight.

Verona, NJ

- I took measurements in the park. On average, about 14.5" - 2-4' drifts. The wind is unbearable... It's incredibly difficult simply trying to walk no more then a few hundred yards decked out in winter gear! Mesoscale banding enveloping the area for a solid 5 hours already... How long will it last?

What's going on with the radar in SNE?

Looks like SNY/NYC/NJ is stealing the show with this one.

A Dry Slot.

Most models said there would be a bullseye over NYC . I 'don't know why some TV mets didn't show a bulleye over NYC.

Looks to have been about 15miles NW,

I am 44 years old.I remember all of the great blizzards FEB 1978,FEB 1983,JAN 1996,JAN 2005,FEB 2006 and the retrosnowcane of FEB 2010.I can honestly say with no exception that the conditions I experienced up until I came in 15 minutes ago were the most intense I have ever experienced.Whiteout conditions with winds of over 60MPH were just brutal.I have not seen drifting or piling like this since the JAN 1996 storm. This is a true blizzard. It was dangerous to walk far from home tonight.Others may and will disagree with me.thats OK.I cant speak for anyone else but me.This storm is a TRUE White Hurricane.

I'd say it comes close to February 10th in Maryland. If I was in Mahwah with my cousins I'd probably would say it's worse.

I honestly believe there will be amounts as high as 28-30 inches and maybe even more in Monmouth County, this band is just dumping more and more snow onto a ton of snow. It is still snowing heavily and very windy in Lincroft, NJ.

yeah even with all those storms we had last winter down here, this storm will still manage to top all of them. Truly amazing.
