After crazed morning running from gym to BJs in setauket LI, I'm down in Port Jefferson Village, and the light snow/flurrys continue and that whisping blowing of snow all over the roads continues, and the wind is already stiff from the north-north east (using iPhone compass). The already present wind is distinct from past storms, and the memory of 1996 at 7am waking up to windswept light snow is just awesome.

Went to King Kullen in Mt. Sinai to pick up a few things around 9:00 AM...long lines, but no panic. After an initial light burst early this morning, steady light snow has commenced in Port Jeff.

Just walking around the Port Jeff Village now, it's noticeable how quick it's now starting to accumulate, and as you well know the area, we have an exposed harbor and winds are driving from Belle Terre hills, presuming that's NNE, with nice funneling into Skating rink area. An inspiring start to this storm.
