A-L-E-X
The SPC couldn't be more accurate with these banding predictions. Kudos to them! Notice how they had that massive band almost stationary over NJ for 6 hours!
WeatherFox
7 inches at New York LaGuardia airport measured so far. Wasn't the Upton map just 24" or so for right around NYC? Did they just adjust downward?
A-L-E-X
I wonder if snowfall ratios keep going up as the temps drop.....

jm1220
Still think we get 20" JM? Hard to say. I'm certain we exceed 12", probably significantly so, but it will be so hard to measure due to the wind and taking into account roof blowoff. All the snow over northern NJ will pivot through here eventually, probably in a reduced state but we're still in this for maybe another 9 hours plus. If I was to guesstimate a number I'd say 16", maybe 18" if we're lucky. Without a doubt though, Earthlight-land will get over 20".
patrick05
measured an average of about 6.5" give or take an inch or two... very hard to measure out there and i will post a video of it later...

They upped our projected totals again-- not that this matters at this stage, Im like 90% certain none of the airports or the city will get 20" because they measure it from a damn rooftop lol. Well, EWR might.....

WeatherFox
yeah, whats up with that? maybe a mistake to be corrected. still expecting 8-10 more hours of moderate to heavy snow to add on an inch or so per hour. JBG
This is the hardest snow I have ever seen...wind makes it so much worse. We just had decorations fly off our house. Fortunately we don't have decorations. As far as obs, totally impossible to determine accumulation, too much wind, but guessing 10-12". Snow and wind link the end of the world. LocoAko
I just measured approximately 10" here but now I'm seeing the area airports seem lower than that. I tried my best to measure and I think that is representative but perhaps it is a bit high?

Took him like 20 minutes to go 50 feet. The snow was up to the hood of this car! ha ha ha Not one plow all night on my street.

I tried my best to measure and I think that is representative but perhaps it is a bit high? The airports have a huge amount of problems measuring in high winds-- because they measure on top of roofs lol. NYC recorded .24 qpf in the past hour! Point being, I would trust you over them!
