Just measured several areas in my back yard and got an average of 9 inches.

Very heavy snow falling right now with roughly 7 or 8 inches (very tough to measure) on the ground. Peak gust so far is 29 mph. It's a wild night out there and it keeps getting better...this band is for real!

Looks like the low has become almost stacked. Center js starting to show up now though there are multiple vortices.

Good lord...this is worse than Feb 06 right now and to be honest it's actually not even close..at the moment. Not sure how long this will last but the last two hours have been the best of my life as far as snowstorms go.

That band will pause and swing thru all of NYC eventually. Fluctuating in strength. We are all enjoying moderate snow and we should all get a chance at super heavy snow throughout the night.

The ocean banding is taking place and all LI and NYC will get their turn.

That band to our west is teasing us here in NYC much lighter snow here in Brooklyn after a few hours of pounding snows. If this storm moves eastward won't that deformation band mice eastward with it? Estimating About 10 inches drifts to 2 feet 23f barometer at 29.26 falling

it is coming down at an unbelievable rate right now in Bergen Co NJ. I estimate at 2" per hr rates. Rt 17 exits are impassable if they haven't been plowed. Numerous vehicles stuck in the snow banks on the side of 17. Stay safe everyone.

If you told me that in the late 1980's and early 1990's we would be experiencing storms like this, I would have laughed. Back then, storms of five inches were big deals.

That band did its damage, since the last time I was out and measured. Im comfortable saying we have around 12" at this point, with 2' drifts. Snowing about 1"/hr maybe a little harder. WOW!

Tonight: Snow and widespread blowing snow before 5am, then areas of blowing snow and a chance of snow after 5am. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 19. Wind chill values as low as zero. Windy, with a north wind between 25 and 29 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 16 to 22 inches possible.
