ScottB
In Edison, absolutely no visibility right now, for the last 2 hours or so. Winds are atrocious and it's pouring snow. Haven't measured yet, will edit when I do. Temp sitting at 22.9 degrees, winds 25 mph or so with gusts above 35.

jm1220
I wonder what the snowfall rates are in these really heavy bands?! Must be 3"/hour or so. It's snowing like crazy here (although it's becoming more difficult to discern between roof blowoff and actual snow falling) and the winds are REALLY gusty now, must be some 50 mph gusts. This reminds me a lot of early 2/26/10 when the low was occluding, but the winds were crazy and the snow came down at a few inches per hour for a time. patrick05
numerous lightning being reported on ABC 7 w/ Lee Goldberg... btw, we just drove for about 10 miles and i just arrived at the house... the roads are just a mess... even the sunrise highway hasn't been plowed properly yet... our SUV probably never went above 10 mph... the winds are just absolutely amazing, we couldn't see more than two cars behind of us and that's with the help of their tailights... i couldn't even distinguish between the main highway and the center island... DONT DRIVE is what i'm saying.... btw, i measured an average of about 5"... it was very hard though due to drifting... took several measurements ranging from a foot to 8" down to 3", etc... NorthShoreWx
We had a period of mixed precip for about an hour (mainly ice pellets) but it appears to have transitioned back to moderate snow at the moment... Didn't notice any pingers here (and I was out and about most of the afternoon) but we seem to be getting a little hosed on the snow rates. No dissapointment so far with regard to the wind though. earthlight
Very bright and visible lightning and crack of thunder just now...6:28pm. Snow rate is still ridiculous and the winds are still absolutely unreal. This storm is quickly engraving it's name in the greats.
