I'll start this thread off with a water vapor loop of the tremendous phase occuring with the shortwave digging towards the Gulf of Mexico. Intense cyclogenesis should be underway over the next several hours off the coast of the Mid-Atlantic with heavy deformation band and frontogenic forcing snow forecast to impact the area Sunday afternoon and evening through Monday Morning.

woke up...im at my girlfriends mom's house in West Hartford. leaving in 30min to head back to CNJ. trying to beat the first flakes home. right now its pretty cold, its that no wind/cold smells like its gonna snow type of air. temp feels like its around 15f (wind chill temp).

edit: looking at water vapor imagery, this thing looks like its about to explode as the energy keeps diving down the back side. you can see the latest piece is about to "collapse" into the southern stream which will lift this thing north, then eventually hook it back in a bit. really fun stuff!

S-, 28F here at 9:50. Status quo...very light but the ground is starting to get dusted.

The real reason for this post is to observe that on the radar, as the snow shield over the ocean moves north towards LI, the light echos currently over the island are actually moving west-southwest along the length of the island. That and the wind is already pretty gusty here along the north shore.
