Clinch Leatherwood
ec has some serious qpf between now and 00z over eastern sections. MM5 did too, had some insane stuff coming through.
DavisStraight
I am highly concerned that she's gonna close off as she becomes vertically stacked..no pun intended, and stalls out for a few days creating a massive long duration blizzard for all of SNE....there are weak steering currents and no way to move her out anytime soon...look at the Euro and see where she is by tomorow morning...man this is gonna get downright bad...almost a redux of the bliz of 78 elements...not to mention the colder air is winning out and any mix or change to rain along the coastal plain will be short lived..just my thoughts Isnt that what we're hoping for? Tolland Death Band
Maybe already posted, BOX disco: THESE PRES FALLS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE TODAY AND TRACK NORTH-NORTHEAST. THIS WILL LIKELY SET THE STAGE FOR A STRONG COASTAL FRONT TO DEVELOP SOMEWHERE ACROSS EASTERN MA AND RI LATER THIS AFTERNOON. THE COASTAL FRONT WILL LIKELY BE STRONG TO INTENSE GIVEN THE RELATIVELY WARM AIRMASS JUST OFFSHORE COMBINED WITH COLD TEMPS AND DEW PTS AS NEARBY AS WESTERN MA AND SOUTHWEST NH. IN ADDITION 06Z NAM/GFS AND 09Z SREF ALL SUPPORT A DEFORMATION ZONE AND ASSOCIATED FGEN SETTING UP ACROSS EAST-CENTRAL MA INTO RI AND EASTERN CT 21Z-00Z TODAY. THE 06Z IS ON THE WEST EDGE OF THIS AND THE 06Z NAM IS FARTHER E. LOCATION OF DRY SLOT WILL BE CRITICAL WITH CURRENT INDICATIONS FOR THIS DRY SLOT TO MOVE ACROSS THE CAPE AND ISLANDS. THIS WOULD SUPPORT THE STRONGEST SNOW BANDS FROM BOSTON TO PROVIDENCE TO POSSIBLY AS FAR WEST AS BDL-ORH-MHT. IN ADDITION TRACK OF 700 MB LOW ACROSS NANTUCKET SUPPORTS THIS AREAL COVERAGE. NEVERTHELESS HEAVY SNOW BANDS BEGINNING 21Z-00Z TODAY AND CONTINUING INTO TONIGHT WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO YIELD HOURLY SNOWFALL RATES OF 2-4 INCHES PER HOUR...AND PERHAPS EVEN HIGHER IF COASTAL FRONT AND MID LEVEL DEFORMATION/FGEN OVERLAP FOR A GIVEN TIME. ANYTIME A STRONG COASTAL FRONT SETS UP COMBINED WITH IMPRESSIVE PRES FALLS WILL HAVE TO MONITOR FOR POSSIBLE GRAVITY WAVE TO MOVE UP THE COASTLINE LATER TODAY/THIS EVENING WHICH WILL ENHANCE SNOWFALL AND WIND FURTHER

HarveyLeonardFan
I don't want to bore the Massachusetts poeple on this board with a lot of Rhode Island weather talk but ground zero is occurring in Narragansett Bay. It's 28 on the West Bay at Quonset Point in North Kingstown, and less than 10 miles east across the Bay at Newport state airport in Middletown (UUU) its 32 and I'm probably 33-34 4 miles south of there in Newport. Cool but not cold? Maybe 25-35? I can see where the RUC is flipping out...product of what it picks up on the passive inputs....this water vapor is scary but not indicative of future trends. http://www.rap.ucar.edu/weather/satellite/displaySat.php?region=ALB&itype=wv&size=large&endDate=20101226&endTime=-1&duration=

I still think we may have some interior ice issues next weeeknd ..Thinking we'll see some sneaky Eastern canadian air try and hold in the cold to some degree..esp with widespread deep snowcover
