Congrats Foot! You deserve it & a whole lot more.

thanks Don! Sounds like you're having a pretty good Winter so far.

Congrats Asheville guys !! I've got 8 and still snowing. GSP is calling for up to 2 feet in some places. I'll take these warm, dry La Nina winters every year!!!:snowman:

Same for you Joe. Could you top last December? Sounds like you already have??

Was getting tough last night man I know!!!

Congrats.

RUC is doing a great job with respect to the reflectivity returns right now... show a peak in the next couple of hours with things gradually tapering off afterwards.

i've been watching the ruc during the last few snows here and it does tend to pick up on the smaller features and does well with 'after storm' snow in ne ga, the upstate and western nc. i based my wake up time on it this morning, and it was actually pretty spot on

edited to add: btw, this is now like 20-24" of snow in calendar year 2010 for mby? (its also the most in dec for at least 8 years if not more) that takes into account some of the non-accumulating like yesterday and one other time but that is still a lot of snow to fall in georgia in one year! :snowman: honestly its been so much i cant remember the exact amount without looking back lol

we have right around 9 here. just woke up. glad to see that 850 low animation worked out last night!:snowman:

it certainly did, almost perfectly to your animation, if i recall correctly :snowing:

Oh man. I wish I had the energy to dig out and get a country ham biscuit and a sweet tea.

Sleet started at the Charleston airport, and it's snowing in Andrews. Of course, we'll probably be some of the last to get any wintry precip. Predicted, the most anyone will get here is about an inch (maybe more if the snow slows down). That is still a huge deal here.

Hope you get 2 or 3 !! I have a neice and nephew in Georgetown and he texted me a little while go and was waiting on it to start. He's probably only seen snow once or twice. Good Luck!!!!:snowman:

That's awesome, great to get a report from near my parents house since I haven't heard any totals from them since 6 pm yesterday. Here in Woodfin we continue with light, powdery snow and have had 8+ inches. Heading to raleigh around 1, gonna be interesting, but not as much as my buddy's drive down 95 from MD. Everyone make sure to let this cold air stay awhile so I can enjoy the snow later this week, heading to Orlando tomorrow and return Wednesday.

Snow shields are deceased!!!!

Good snowy morning all! I've got about 6-7 inches or so in SE Wake and it's still coming down. I'll go out and officially measure later. Right now, drinking coffee with the Christmas lights on and the snow coming down.:snowman:

Good post Bill!!!

Superb! Job WELL DONE by Old Man Winter!

What a Christmas Blessing to so many snow starved people finally get a substantial snow!

Treasure this day as it is making making memories of Christmas 2010 to last a lifetime!

Get out and enjoy it!

lol :arrowhead:

He's just down the road from me so I suspect he has 5 or 6 " as well. Its still snowing. And I think my temp may be a degree or two high as I'm picking up radiational heat from the mass of my house. Probably closer to 28 here.

Looks pretty white out there, but accums near the house were limited due to the trees that collected so much snow.

Went out and measured 2.5 at 7:30am, but it has been snowing moderately to sometimes heavily since then. Will measure in a little while.

About the same here in NW Meck County. Looks like we got the short end of the stick! Just can't get temps low enough to get a good accumulating snow. It falls at the same time it's melting. Maybe next time.

As promised here are some youtube videos from the heavier batch of snowfall this morning. The band now is pivoting eastward and affecting Spartanburg and Laurens counties, so a quick inch is not out of the question with big flakes!

First one is around 7:30am

This one is around 8:00am

looks like the snow in ne ga is winding down. just took i guess a final measurement for the storm as anything else will be maybe 1/4 inch lol

measuring between 5.5 - 5.7" actually on the ground now  this morning's fluffy snow has added a fair amount of new accumulation, maybe 2" ? i am sort of tired so cant remember too clearly apparently :arrowhead: in addition to tracking, this has been a pretty long lasting storm as well. of course i could be a little biased. this storm seem to take a near perfect track for mby with the heavier returns yesterday just reaching the southern half of the county, and again this morning being in the right place for several hours of moderate snow in that awesome batch that kept redeveloping
