NCStateMMY
Hope you keep power. You're getting to that depth that causes problem. Congrats on the snow. Thanks. Wind is picking up and the lights just blinked. I am praying that is the only power outage we see. At least we have gas logs and a grill.
FoothillsNC
only 3-4" in mooresville.. light snow right now I thought you guys had that at 10:30 last night? when I went to bed at 10:30, I had 1" and the radar was just starting to look good (after all those holes kept opening for the longest time) Now I'm right at 4" on the ground. Still snowing hard.
radiobrian
Measured 8.25" in central Wilson, NC as of 8:20am. Almost .75 has fallen since then and it is still coming down at a fair clip with thick, fat flakes.
NEGa
Close on 4" here in the Bull City and it's still flurrying down. This is the really sticky stuff so it's all over the trees and postcard-pretty outside. This is better than finding a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun (with a compass in the stock) behind the Christmas tree! So in the end, did this storm really end up panning out the way the Euro thought it would several days out, before it broke all our hearts? i would say it did for mby, and probably most of n ga, esp with the snow in the eastern part today. all hail king euro I thought you guys had that at 10:30 last night? when I went to bed at 10:30, I had 1" and the radar was just starting to look good (after all those holes kept opening for the longest time) Now I'm right at 4" on the ground. With just a few token flurries right now,That band of snow this morning set up just to my south 75-100 miles. Hoping somehow it keeps developing north ? Glad to see everybody getting snow great storm.

phil882
I am so glad that you are getting snow. You, Phil, Brandon, Allan, Lookout, Jeremy, and MANY others add so much to this board, you deserve to cash in, Thanks! You too, because I know how bad the snow drought was in Asheville... and its nice to see this might be the third 10"+ event in the last 2 years for the region... which is amazing. Phil - What part of Greenville are you stay in? Still only have about an inch to and inch and a half close to downtown on the deck. Dusting on hard surfaces. I'm on the southeastern Corner, east of both I-85 and I-385. In fact I'm only about a couple of miles from the GSP airport (i'm SW of their location). We got lucky last night to be in the stronger bands last night that put us up near 3" last night before the snowfall this morning. Snow has definitely tapered off here, but we were under that nice snow band for a good 2-3 hours, and picked up around 1.5"... some of the other snow became more compact, so we are looking at 4" total on the ground right now. NavarreDon
You cashed in Mark! thanks for posting this Phil. I was wondering how things looked during the night and when it began again. Models nailed this redevelopment here this morning. thanks NeGA ! I did ok for some areas of the forecast, the worst forecast was my back yard. I just can't do worth a darn in the several counties around me, things always pop up but glad it worked out in Your area up to the Mountains and western foothills of NC. I'd say I probably had 7" of snow if the melting wasn't an issue so early on and considering how much compaction /melting overnight, but just took measurements and I've officially got 4" now on the ground. And had 1" at 10:30 last night (not sure what it was at midnight). Still snowing very hard, large flakes! Congrats Foot! You deserve it & a whole lot more. SnoJoe
I was at 9. My snowboard definitely has a few tenths added to it since then. I may end up with a foot yet. I hate watching the news and watching the reporter put a ruler into snow on pavement and say there is 5 inches. Ray's weather also had Aville at 9 inches. The airport was at 6.5 inches at midnight. I think today is going to overperform with high ratios. Congrats Asheville guys !! I've got 8 and still snowing. GSP is calling for up to 2 feet in some places. I'll take these warm, dry La Nina winters every year!!!

sctvman
Sleet started at the Charleston airport, and it's snowing in Andrews. Of course, we'll probably be some of the last to get any wintry precip. Predicted, the most anyone will get here is about an inch (maybe more if the snow slows down). That is still a huge deal here.
