Moderate to heavy snow now in Wilson, closing in on 5 inches (my best guesstimate right now). It is absolutely beautiful - haven't seen it snow like this in years. Ooooh I can't wait to go sledding after my son wakes up!

Got any of the Pitt County folks on here right now? Still a little too early to call my folks but I'd love to know how much they've gotten in that area.

edit: My dad just called me - said in the Falkland area of Pitt County, he had (by his unscientific observation, looking at the collection on his truck tool box) had maybe close to 5 inches? Could be off, though.

9 inches at my house after an inch last night. I'm hoping that I pick up the 1-2 forecast to put me at 10 or over. Looks like almost everybody got something. That's the best kind, when the whole board gets involved.

What do you think the roads are like in and around Asheville? Interstate in particular.

Thinking about a trip to the Biltmore house but not quite sure if it's worth the trip today

Measured 4" on my snow board in Winterville heavy wet stuff so its compacting some too, still coming down hard looking like we make a run for 8" at least should keep this up for another 4-5 hrs if the RUC is right. Up your folks way they prolly have inch or so more than us so they should get 8-10" no problem I think ( ok hope)

Any road report from RDU to Wilson would be appreciated. My better half is enroute from IAH to RDU at this hour and then driving on into Wilson for a family emergency. Sorry in advance for the intrusion in the SE forum, but any road condition links would be a big help upon arrival.

Sounds like the DOT has been focusing on the interstates, so I would think that they should be okay. Secondary roads are snow covered. But, haven't been out since yesterday morning.

Be safe! About 7 inches here near Rocky Mount off of I-95. Just saw that 64 and 95 is covered, but the plow trucks are out and the roads just have snow on them, no ice.

Main roads...slick..you should be ok if you keep it under 30mph...back roads are horrible...20mph max without sliding.
