Looks to be moderate snow here in Mooresville, haven't gotten out to check the accumulation totals yet but looks around 4 1/2" possibly...was crazy earlier today, went to visit with family on the east side of I-77 and it didn't start really accumulating until 6 or 7 this evening whereas it had already been coming down pretty steadily and sticking at our house just 7 miles west. Thanks to the great analysts on here for all the hard work, been just scanning over the posts for the past couple of days and honestly found myself trusting the guys on here more than our local mets, but part of that is due to the countless busts in the past that I've witnessed living in the Charlotte area my entire life.

Update on the power outages...

Duke Energy has 23,524 customers without electricity currently. (No pun intended.) About one-quarter of those are in Forsyth County.

Progress Energy has 854 out. As earlier, most of those are in Buncombe County. I would expect Progress to see more outages within their eastern service area as the morning progresses.

In Greensboro, it's 29F. Over 4.5" on the ground now not including what melted earlier. Snow is really coming down nicely now. Flakes have increased in size slightly compared to the tiny, wet flakes from earlier in the evening. I'm hoping that we can ride this train and end with at least 6" or 7" by late morning.

If this thing pivots and bombs, then the precip backedge should actually retrograde towards the west, so you may be okay. :)

Yea, that is what I'm hoping for. That last band coming through GA has slowed to a crawl and started showing some 35 DBZ returns...plus its trying to fill in a bit....snow or not its fun to watch unfold.
