If this was winter people would be freaking out lol.

The difference between 2 to 4 and 12 to 18.

This is true lol, especially for this type of setup.  It actually looks similar to some of the other storms where we're just having a difficult time getting a true nor'easter.  Might have to wait until El Nino settles in...maybe next Fall.

It's kinda interesting tracking a rainstorm like a snowstorm. It turns out the models waffle exactly the same lol

A good point here. Folks don't care if we get an inch vs. two inches of rain. Unless it's flooding, there's no big deal to them. Contrast that with winter when a difference of 0.25" liquid means no work/school vs. a nothingburger.

I see the models still suck good to know lol. Cant even get a rainstorm to be right 1 day out now

HRRR looks great for most of MD. It clobbered PG and AA County. Models have had a pretty good idea all week. I understand the frustration in your comment. I hope your backyard floods too.

Hrrr gives NW areas like .25 or less so probably not. Models yesterday and prior had me getting 1.5-2”

I mostly agree, but I would tighten the likely score zone, based on convergence of overnight guidance, to between the Bay and Rt 15.   Radar evolution so far this morning suggests that this is on track.

Look at that, another non-event for us western folks.

The problem is that this is a small low and the moisture availability is modest at best.  PWATs don’t even get close to 1”.

Part of the reason why this looked like a region-wide soaker from several days back was that the two parts (wave then low) nicely hit different areas.  The wave part ended up being a dud for most of us except for up by Hagerstown.  I got a trace.

Looking at the home cam back in Calvert it's been raining raining moderately there all morning.  Definitely good rain for the plants.

My parents in Calvert have 11 inches precip on the year compared to 4.9 in Germantown.  Their plants are happy while I'm having to water even established shrubs.  Going to be a long, drought-stricken summer with expensive water bills with all the sprinkling

SoMD and Eastern shore were epicenter of the drought last year but that definitely seems to have shifted.  I'm not complaining, my caterpillars don't do well in drought due to low leaf water content.  Earlier I thought you might get a good rain band into Germantown but it seems to be drying up as it reaches you.   Hopefully you get something out of this!
