we had one shower last week, otherwise it's been bone dry as the storms have missed my backyward by (literally) a mile.

storms are popping now but i doubt I'll get any rain. maybe tomorrow. 71/62 with a high of 74.

It will be interesting to see rain actually make it into the area. I've been watching it miss us to the north for a week. It hasn't been easy to get rain into the area for the past year. Models seem to like 1-2" today and tonight.

Set a new record high and a 'warm minimum' for date. High 84.6 degrees, breaking 2023's 82.2 degrees. Low was 59.0, shattering 1997's 53 degree reading. Least it rained a bit this morning (0.13 in gauge at 7 am). First +80 of the year, first day it felt muggy too, blah.

Wow. Chillier up there above Baltimore. 10 degrees warmer down here in the great white lowlands.

Sharp temp gradients today. Could see 30 degree swings in a 100 mile distance? Already have Fredericksburg at 76 and Dale City at 59. That is just under 30 miles.

More delayed than denied. Looks like a dry day today but rain tonight.

Yeah tonight still looks on track although I95 and points south look most favored. Bust from potential 1.5-2” is lack of storms yesterday and morning rain today.

0.20" so far with the temp falling from 59.4 at midnight to 44.2 now. Raw day with low ceilings.

I have to lead an outdoor program this evening in the Mt. Vernon are of Fairfax county. With the waffling of the precipitation potential, what are thoughts on odds of steady, moderate, rain between 6 and 9 pm?

Hard to tell.  It looks mostly hit-and-miss showery until probably after your event when more sustained rain moves in.  But, of course, if you are in the "hit" area prior to that, you'll be wet.

Yeesh.  Euro has a brutal gradient though Loudon/MoCo/HoCo/Baltimore.
