I’m in favor of reducing the regular season to 154 games and making all the postseason series seven games.

Yeah they need to do something. The long regular season doesn't mean much anymore when so many teams get in. Two years ago 3 teams won 100+ games and had to sit around for 5 days, then all lost in the actual first round(division series) to inferior teams who got hot at the end and maintained their momentum. All about money ofc.

How many will they be able to(willing to) extend, when Boras advises them not to go that route? That being the case, Henderson will be a FA in 2028 and probably end up a Dodger. That's four years away, man. Still time for ownership to right the ship (as in firing Elias if need be).

Almost sure Detroit would've asked for Basallo and Holliday, lol That to me was the issue with last year's trade deadline...Elias got a lot of heat for that, but teams were literally asking for the two TOP prospects to trade for pitching...so I gave him a bit of a pass for that. Asking prices were absolutely ridiculous! The off-season on the other hand? Surely there had to be somebody better than Charlie Morton...

And that's if they don't trade them prior to there FA to start another rebuild. They peaked 2 years ago. It's unfortunate , but with Elias unwilling to spend big or trade the talent that's stuck at triple A for the pitching this team depserately needs this is what we're stuck with. I've already moved on from this season for having any post season expectations of this team. Except...they didn’t. This team was incredibly young and inexperienced--that's why they didn't do anything in the playoffs. I do not believe that's the best they can be--they are too talented to not be able to do much more than that. It could just be an issue of leadership--and there's still time to correct that. I mean with this core, you actually make the right moves to add to the team, and possibly get a new manager, this could turn around in one season. There roster is less talented this year compared to last year. We're heading in the wrong direction. I actually think their young position talent is a bit overrated. All high strike out/low on base % types. I don't think it's a coincidence the offense goes away in the playoffs when your facing the best pitching. And Mayo is wasting away in triple A. He either needs to be up in the bigs or trade him for a legit top of the rotation starter. What are we doing lol.

What pisses me off the most is you've got all these Youngs guys making basically league minimum and Elias isn't willing to pay an ace. There was some options out there this past winter. Including the guy in Arizona. You are right. Elias totally blew it. This is not a good team as currently constructed.

New ownership could choose to fire him, ya know...(perhaps he has a leash for this year, but next year may be the hotseat). People are forgetting about that part--Rubenstein & Co. have been here barely a year, and they deserve to be given a chance, imo

Well I mean ya just gave a rather fatalistic "The future is now and they blew it" as if it were no coming back for this group, so I didn't know what you meant, lol And I totally agree on the pitching--these dumpster moves ain't it, man. And even bringing in a veteran hitter that's actually good would help too. These young guys need leadership--and that's what's been lacking the last year or so. The best teams have found that balance of young and veteran and we haven't yet.
Jebman Posted yesterday at 02:51 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:51 AM You guys are nearly 17-20 degrees above average. You will get a lot of rain soon, too, rain that will entirely miss us. Boston's normal temps are 55/41. You know what they hit today? 84/57!!!!! With a 60 dewpoint! THIRTY DEGREES above normal! This is going to be a record hot summer and year overall. Texas is in exceptional drought already. It's going to be BAD, but not for the Mid Atlantic. You guys will be normal hot, with good rains. You may even get above normal rain for the summer, followed by several hurricanes smashing into the Ches Bay, George BM-style, and some TC's will have torrential rains that will repeatedly demolish your back yards this fall. Strap yourslefs in tight! Gonna be livin' in Interesting Times over there! Don't even get me started about the 2025-2026 Winter. Lots precip, lots cold. Buy shovels, blowers, salt. It's gonnabe a good one!
