Chris78
It's still very early but so far the current roster construction has multiple flaws from last year and none were fixed and in some cases got worse. All the attention is on Burnes leaving but O'Neil is not Santander. Santander was one of the few clutch hitters the Os had last year. They are worse in multiple spots. Oneill worse than Santander. Morton much, much worse than Burnes. Lacking at back up catcher. Worse in the outfield. This is looking like a 70 win team. This is on Elias no doubt.
CAPE
Long long season. They need to tread water for now, but don't want to fall 10 games under 500. Offense is wildly inconsistent and still not good in situational hitting. They have the talent so hopefully that improves some. Ultimately improvement/competing for the division requires better starting pitching. Not sure how that's going to work out exactly. Ideally Rodriguez and Eflin are back sooner than later, then see how it goes with Bradish and Wells down the road.
CAPE
Ravens GM noncommittal on TE Mark Andrews' future with team https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/44686966/baltimore-ravens-gm-eric-decosta-noncommittal-te-mark-andrews-ahead-nfl-draft Quote Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta was noncommittal Tuesday when asked if he expected tight end Mark Andrews to remain with the team. "I never know what's going to happen," DeCosta said at the Ravens' predraft news conference. "And I would never want to say this or that. But I can tell you this: Mark Andrews is a warrior. He's played his butt off for us." Wouldn't be surprising at all if he is traded, considering he is in the final year of his contract plus the emergence of Likely. Commanders might be interested. RickinBaltimore
So the Blues are in the playoffs once again after being left for dead, firing their head coach mid-season, going on a franchise record win streak and will play Winnipeg in the first round. Hold on, I've seen this movie before...

Or, I guess, bring in more vets to continue to block those prospects and then also NOT deal the blocked prospects while putting together a starting staff with baling wire. Either one, I guess. They lost to Chicago in a SO the other night. That alone would have sealed the deal for them. I feel for Calgary fans, they were looking like they had a playoff spot sewn up, then the Blues run off 12 in a row. Still have a shot going into last night, then Minnesota forces OT with 20 seconds left. Had the Wild lost in Regulation, Calgary would have their last game as a win and in.
WVclimo
Orioles announced that Grayson Rodriguez is headed for an MRI on his shoulder. So that’s his elbow and his shoulder. Might be time to see if he can learn to pitch lefthanded.

Stormchaserchuck1 Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM I thought it was surprising that the O's were 6th place world series betting odds pre-season. I guess the betters liked that they were young, but I could tell after the 2nd half of last year that that was an easy call under.

Chris78 Posted yesterday at 01:25 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:25 AM I know the last couple weeks of games for the caps haven't meant a lot but don't like how there playing at all. Defense has been porus for weeks now. I know there resting alot of players tonight but it's been rough for a while now. Hopefully they can turn it on against Montreal next week.

They seemed to be playing to get Ovi the record for a few weeks and haven't looked in sync since. Halak's not in net for Montreal so the Caps do have a chance I'd say.

Elias needed to be aggressive in FA or via trade and he wasn't, other than making some middle of the road acquisitions. This team won 100 games 2 years ago, regressed a bit last season plus all the pitching injuries. Perpetually in 'build for the future' mode by developing prospects. It's getting a little old, and doing only that is not conducive to competing for the division when 3 of the 4 other teams consistently go after proven talent to improve their rosters. I was at the Phillies-Giants game on Monday. The Phils got booed off the field because they were trailing 6-3 and sporting a 9-6 record at the time. Philly fans...unique breed. How many will they be able to(willing to) extend, when Boras advises them not to go that route? That being the case, Henderson will be a FA in 2028 and probably end up a Dodger.

They peaked 2 years ago. It's unfortunate , but with Elias unwilling to spend big or trade the talent that's stuck at triple A for the pitching this team depserately needs this is what we're stuck with. I've already moved on from this season for having any post season expectations of this team.
