Brian D
Pretty much a fail with precip yesterday. Some came through last night giving me 0.20", and some showers around today. Hopefully will see a better round at the end of the week.

nvck
If you're in the western (ish) portion of the you've got a decent chance at seeing the northern lights tonight, sadly I think it'll be too cloudy here.

Brian D
MRCC, and all RCC sites I think, are down as contract for funding has not been renewed as of yet. Email from MRCC to me. Hello again, We’ve had some recent developments concerning the MRCC website, including the cli-MATE self-service data portal. It is looking likely that our funding will lapse starting April 17. At that time, our website and all of our hosted products on the website will be unavailable. This is a change in what we previously communicated, and this was a very difficult decision. The base RCC contract is what funded all aspects of the website from IT server usage, data storage, and personnel support. If our funding is restored, our website and hosted products will come back online as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we do not have a timeline on this decision. We recognize that our absence will affect you. One option for obtaining climate data and services would be to inquire with NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) at https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/contact. And my response.... GRRR! $%&#$^%#@!! Well, I hope funding is restored. I use your cli-MATE nearly everyday for my wx data. Ease of use, and a treasure trove of data from active, as well as non-active stations. If you disappear permanently, I'll be pissed. Sorry for the rough language, but that's how I feel about this situation. Their response.. Brian, I share your sentiment. This is awful for all of us. Contact your representatives.

Brian D
0.61" yesterday with a little bit of hail up to pea size. That's 2 hail events imby this year already (1st one had up to dime sized). Believe it or not I barely get 1 event in a year here in town. Usually it stays just N along the ridges.

Chinook
This is a nice day here, finally. Meanwhile,my old home of Fort Collins is getting snow. (29 degrees in the south Denver metro.) This La Nina spring is really making the cold air troughs dig in to various regions. No wonder they say La Nina springs have more tornadoes. Things are nuts. Look at this huge trough out west, with 500mb winds flowing from the Northwest Territories to Utah.

Iowa storms crapped the bed before reaching the MS river. Towers going up overhead now as the cold front is passing by atm. Should fire up some storms about 15-30 miles east of here in a bit. IWXwx
Got hammered between 6:30-6:50 (EDT) this morning. Caught 0.53" in that timeframe, with pea sized hail and some great lightning. The hardest I've seen it rain in a long time. Nice way to wake up on a Saturday morning.
Torchageddon
I got slammed here too, so many waves of tstorms yesterday into this morning (5 rounds). I didn't get thunder/lightning in the morn as shown but a pouring rain, then by evening I got the boomers with the multi-cluster mode giving me an intense storm before 1am with window rattling thunder, frequent sheet lightning! Woke up at 5am to another fat cell chugging along. 5mm/.2" in a hour, got 16mm/.63" on Fri. April/WF delivers again, I probably won't get as good storms for the rest of the year starting in June . Fri was unique in a way with its bookend storms, then 67F high by 4pm with sun for a few hrs, then dark overcast agian by 6pm, with multi rounds. Should've known due to morn event with the sun coming out later it was going to be a big night!
michsnowfreak
DTW hit 83 yesterday. Most of SE MI topped out between 80-83 (the faulty warm sensor at detroit city airport hit 88, but it's literally running 5-6° too warm, a tcc dream). In the past 2 weeks, southeast Michigan has seen temps from the 10s to the 80s, 1-2" of snow and a tornado.
michsnowfreak
With yesterday's warmth and the flowers on my maple starting to emerge, I wanted to see how much they would open in one day. You can really see the difference.

It's hard to remember any days with temperatures of 85+ in April. Some rain/thunder hit before 9:00AM (Today, Saturday) and also some light rain happened in the daytime.
TheNiño
I know STL isn’t discussed here much but this occurred during their last heavy rain. Apparently a fairly widespread issue at the moment.

hawkeye_wx
A few of the meso models are suggesting a few spots around here could get 2-4" of rain today. A 2" soaker would be great. The soil is pretty dry.
