we have a record drought of 100 degree highs.

The last time we hit 100 here was 2013.

The last time we had a 20 inch snowstorm was 2016

Yeah, the record run without a 100° day continues at JFK since 2013 due to the new summer onshore flow pattern.

Got to 67 during the day. Looks like after tomorrow we bump up into the 60s as the baseline. Trees popping quickly now. Great to see

The trees have exploded over the last few days.

56 / 29 cool.  Likely the coolest day of the next 7.  Back near 80 tomorrow. Then a gorgeous Wed - Fri low - mid 70s.  Next shot at rain now forecast 0.50 or more comes this Saturday (26).  Timing to be worked out and as of now Sunday looks salvaged.  Overall warmer close to the month and dry since the 16th with Saturday next meaningful rainfall.

Back to bright and sunny on Sunday :) One day of rain is fine, multiple days is a bad pattern.

Chris have you noticed the chronological progression here too? It actually seems to be getting worse with time!  It was shorter from the 40s through the 60s and beginning with the 70s the gaps have been getting wider.  The turning point was after 1966.... that was one GREAT summer going by the numbers.

2010-2013 was a hot island in a vast sea of mediocrity!

Just finished the final seasonal snowfall map for the 24-25 season. I added stats to the side for the climo sites as well as a progression throughout the season which you can see on our site. Everything is updated in the 24-25 snowfall maps page

Had 30.9" at my location.  Except for 3 events of between 5 and 6" I could have done without the remaining nuisance 1-2" events.

Nevertheless a total is a total and compared so some totals on this map even into the Catskills, mid Hudson Valley and NW CT I did well.

Nice. I saw that on the COOP but i think i just included the 4.4SW Jefferson 30.6". Some of these are so close together i can't fit them all but that 30.9 matches up pretty close to the 30.6, which was also in Mine Hill

Maybe one day we'll figure out plant birth control and be able to spray something that will limit pollenation.  It gets worse every year.

Hello Liberty. I was 15 when Ms Carson’s Silent Spring was published. My parents had  spray cans of DDT for use in the house. I believe we should tread very carefully before we interfere, in any way, with a natural process. Stay well, as always.

I hate pesticides, but as for excessive pollination, it's no longer natural because of our warming climate, we've made it much worse. =\ Also, the things that give us allergies and breathing problems aren't really essential to our environment.

Only 55 here right now. I don't think we're gonna make the forecasted low 60s today. Not a surprise that temps are underperforming with the clouds and wind off the ocean. I'm looking forward to the much warmer weather the rest of the week.

yes this is just the rogue off mark day, however I see central NJ has already made it into the 60s.

It's the fact that everyone keeps planting male trees and plants.

That’s a pretty small impact except maybe locally in some suburbs that have strict planting and removal restrictions. The neighborhood I grew up in, in south Wantagh was completely tree covered in the 80s/90s. Between March 2010, Irene and Sandy we lost a tremendous amount of trees in a short time. After Sandy especially there was a panick of removals. Now there a very few trees in the entire neighborhood. Even in the wantagh woods which was known for its mature oaks and beech’s there are far, far fewer trees. Developers buy old houses on big lots, cut all the trees and build 2 McMansions. Again this is local, where I live now in Lynbrook there are still plenty of mature trees.

I lost a tremendous amount of large mature trees in my area starting with the Queens tornado in September 2010.

My area is still pretty green but before 2010 you had to search for sunshine walking on the sidewalk.

It's very saddening.
