Yeah, the record run without a 100° day continues at JFK since 2013 due to the new summer onshore flow pattern.

For posterity, I spotted some minor undulatus-type clouds over the Manhattan skyline this morning while on the LIE.

56 / 29 cool.  Likely the coolest day of the next 7.  Back near 80 tomorrow. Then a gorgeous Wed - Fri low - mid 70s.  Next shot at rain now forecast 0.50 or more comes this Saturday (26).  Timing to be worked out and as of now Sunday looks salvaged.  Overall warmer close to the month and dry since the 16th with Saturday next meaningful rainfall.

1885: A tornado struck the town of Denison, Texas in 1883 that destroyed a church. The congregation rebuilt the church. On this date, a second tornado destroyed the newly rebuilt church.

1958 - Portions of Montana were in the midst of a spring snowburst. Snowfall amounts ranged up to 55 inches at Red Lodge, 61 inches at Nye Mine, and 72 inches at Mystic Lake. (David Ludlum)

1967 - Severe thunderstorms spawned 48 tornadoes in the Upper Midwest. Hardest hit was northern Illinois where sixteen tornadoes touched down during the afternoon and evening hours causing fifty million dollars damage. 1990 - Afternoon and evening thunderstorms produced golf ball size hail in Oklahoma, and also caused some flash flooding in the state. Back to bright and sunny on Sunday  One day of rain is fine, multiple days is a bad pattern.

Maybe one day we'll figure out plant birth control and be able to spray something that will limit pollenation.  It gets worse every year.

Chris have you noticed the chronological progression here too? It actually seems to be getting worse with time!  It was shorter from the 40s through the 60s and beginning with the 70s the gaps have been getting wider.  The turning point was after 1966.... that was one GREAT summer going by the numbers.

2010-2013 was a hot island in a vast sea of mediocrity!
