lol are you sure thats accurate?

anyway it's been 96 degrees before in April and felt really good (very low humidity and deep blue skies).

It spiked to 87, now it's back to 84. There were other Ambient weather stations in the area with similar numbers.

You need to live on the south shore, it fell into the low 70s, now up to 76 again.

The snow difference isn't that bad, none of us get that much snow anyway lol.

This is really weird.

We're spiking here now with full sunshine, 82.6 degrees

I checked other weather stations in the area, everyone is tightly clustered between 81 and 82 even though JFK is only 76.

Checked 6 weather stations including ones I trust who have been online for 20 years or more.

Very windy and very warm!

This is as warm as it was on March 30th here, but more humid. The dew point is 61 here.

It seems the biggest heat is clustered near the Jersey shore and also just east of Manhattan/western Queens (away from the south shore of course.)

Eastern Queens is actually warmer than western Queens.

it's a little more complicated though, it's 83 here and you have to be right on the barrier islands or right on the ocean to get the cooler air

Look at this

83 and 69 so close to each other

The New York City area experienced an early taste of summer today with the temperature soaring to the highest level so far this year in many parts of the region. Highs included:

Islip: 76°
New York City-Central Park: 85°
New York City-JFK Airport: 78°
New York City-LaGuardia Airport: 86° (old record: 85°, 1976 and 2002)
Newark: 87°
White Plains: 84°

The generally mild weather will continue into at least the middle of next week, although Monday could be briefly cooler. It will also remain mainly dry into at least the middle of next week.

The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was +1.2°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was -0.1°C for the week centered around April 9. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +1.25°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged +0.33°C. Neutral ENSO conditions will likely continue through at least late spring.

Early indications are that summer 2025 will be warmer than normal in the New York City and Philadelphia areas. The potential exists for a much warmer than normal summer (more than 1° above normal).

The SOI was +0.79 today.

The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was +0.737 today.

Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, there is an implied 53% probability that New York City will have a cooler than normal April (1991-2020 normal). April will likely finish with a mean temperature near 53.6° (0.1° below normal).

Just got back from the beach where as expected it was chilly right on the ocean. The thermal gradient was so tight that it was 10 degrees or so warmer up on the boardwalk.

100+ with low humidity is GREAT running weather!

I wonder if we can pull up the maps for April 7, 2010 (my favorite summer and the earliest 90 degree day), There was a big difference between Long Beach and JFK that day too.  I want to see if we east of JFK were even hotter than JFK was and closer to Central Park's temperature.
