So by looking at the forecasts, Monday is going to be rainy. Clearing and colder Tuesday and Wednesday, Wednesday morning lows near freezing even in the city.  Clouds come in Thursday, rain Thursday night, Friday and Saturday, Sunday cloudy but dry and the really good weather comes in for Monday and Tuesday the following week, sunny and warm, near 70.

Looks like Wednesday will be the last freeze potential for NYC until next fall or winter.

Our latest freeze since 2020, Chris?

I remember we had snow in May that year but I'm not sure how late our last freeze was.

If it wasn't that year then the only other season I can think of with a very late freeze since 1996 and 2003 would be 2014 when we had accumulating snow on April 16th.....

Did 2014 have a later freeze than this though since we had accumulating snow on 4-16-2014?

Funny that 2016 had such a late freeze even though it was such a mild winter (though it did have our last below zero temp on VD.)

It's very weird that 2020 had such an early last freeze and yet we had snow in May.

What an atrocious raw day. Other than the 4 hours last Saturday and some breaks of sun here and there where temps can spike, horrible last couple weeks. And it looks to continue.

it really should be better than this.  I know that people say it's spring bla bla bla, but aside from 1982 and 1996, our Aprils and Mays were much warmer and drier than this between the late 70s and early 00s. We had far fewer -nao springs back then too.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be okay with lots of sunshine and after the next cut off passes we should have a nice stretch of warm sunny weather after next Sunday.

All the clouds, wind, and rain has made the 7th warmest start to average spring high temperatures feel much cooler.

It's why we really can't go by average temperatures, I prefer to use high temperatures for a true measure of warmth.

Just for highs? It's weird because it doesn't feel all that warm.  2010 and 2012 I know were really warm, outside of those two years, I can't think of another warm spring in recent years.  We seem to always have these -nao springs now, especially since 2002.

I remember Larry did some research showing that -nao in spring and +nao in winter have become much more common.

I was in the Poconos for that, we had rain changing to snow Friday evening with 1-3 inches and another inch or so on Saturday with temps in the 20s (lows in the teens) and wind chills near 0 with almost constant snow squalls! And it warmed up in time for thunderstorms and hail on Monday!

40 / 38 cloudy and some misty drizzle.  Cloudy and cool today.  Drier and still cool on Tuesday with more winds.  Wed looks to be the nicest day of the work week before clouds return Thu and a wetter weekend comes up.  Warmer by mid month but nothing looks sustained and it looks to continue to include several rain chances.

It’s been one of the warmest starts to spring we have seen. But even +6 to +7 for high temperatures is still going to feel cool with all the clouds, rain, and wind. We are just too close to the ocean to get a summer in March like they had in the Midwest back in 2012.

We were warmer in 2010 and 2012 too I remember both springs were great.  I am curious about April in the late 70s, how did we have so many 90 degrees in April back then between 1976 and 1978? The winters were much colder, but spring was warmer?

I heard they had 8 inches of snow in the Texas Panhandle wow!

Does the Texas Panhandle normally get more snow than we do?

I think it was May 9th 2020, my pool was being opened, and we were having a snow shower.  I'm not sure what the lows were around that time though.
