Since 4/13 18z, Caribou picked up 2.6" of snow. The next event  of the two systems will bring very little snow and mainly rain/mixed precipitation. In contrast, the 4/13 18z GFS had shown the following amounts for snowfall during the period during which 2.6" fell: 10:1 ratio: 10.9"; Kuchera: 8.4"; and Snow Depth Change: 3.1".

The second system brought a trace of snow to Caribou. The total snowfall for the two systems was 2.6".

Periodic AI update:

Through April 12th:

Through April 19th (preliminary):

The one area where the AI idea appears to be at the highest risk of being off is April precipitation. Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, the April mean temperature should finish within 1° of the AI estimate. With today's high temperature, the AI estimate for the monthly high temperature is very close to what has occurred.

Too late in case Mount Spur erupts to cool things down for this coming winter?

Depends on the plume type. If it's water vapor, we might have additional warming. If it's SO2, then cooling. However, the plume type might not mean much if the eruption is weak. Also, the effects aren't definitive either.

me reading the climate change "debate"

it's not just them, it's every industry/cartel in this country.

The dumb AG said she wants to prosecute for the death penalty for Mangione because he decided to go up against the healthcrap industry.  That's ironic because if there's any cartel that deserves the death penalty it's the healthcrap industry....

Everyone hates the healthcare industry, until they or someone they love is sick and dying, then they beg for meds.  It makes me laugh.  I wish all that hated them just didn't use any pharma product ever created, it would thin the herd quickly.

The issue is whether they get the care they were paying for year after year via insurance premiums, not whether they get a medication. BTW the people who are running defence for the healthcare industry are the same people who would call you a killer because of your COVID vaccine haha. You're not on the same side, I promise you.

Paying for a service and then getting denied when you need said service is textbook fraud. That CEO was a POS. Oh no he was a father! Who cares. So is Kilmar.

No then they hate them even more because they refuse to cover lifesaving treatments.

We see a lot of that here and the only solution is to sue the crap out of them.

Yes it should be against the law for them to deny them service.

If you do not provide the service that we pay you for you deserve to go out of business.

Period.

AIPAC budget is like 10 million a year tops.

Qatar has donated over 6 BILLION to American universities over the last 20 years.

We should move this to banter.

Yay I learned how to move a post (had no idea how to do this before!)

They're all bad regardless of the amount and influence extends well beyond money into other areas.  Individual dark money rich guys have far more influence than the amount of money you mentioned.  Schumer alone has received 7.7 million from AIPAC members, which explains some of his stupid, outdated stances and why he's persona non grata here in New York and why he won't even show his face here anymore and why he needs to be primaried.  AIPAC has been known to have undue influence on politicians which causes some very stupid and destructive decisions to be made. In addition to direct influence, they have an outsized dark money influence which involves creating superpacs and shell groups beyond AIPAC.  It's too much to get into here, but by doing a little detective work, you learn a lot of very alarming things about dark money influence in politics that just should not be allowed to be there (including the exact amounts going to each politician by groups like AIPAC, API, NRA, PHRMA, ACS, as well as dark money shell groups they created, etc.) that the SCOTUS allowed by the very shortsighted Citizens United decision.

It's why all this pac/superpac crap needs to be illegal as well as limiting all donations to one flat sum (no more than 1000).

Actually even better to only allow for public donations via rigorous campaign finance reform.
