Windows and doors shutting quickly.  Might even see a white coating down here while the upper elevation snow plots get smoked in the upslope flow on Wednesday.  One day wonder for spring today.

Plenty of snow for now.  Today was great.

Yeah the southern end of Mansfield rises up another 500+ feet behind the crest in this photo (the Nose is above this).  The Chin to the north is the highest spot at 4,395ft.

This photo is of 1,500 to 3,400 foot elevations.  1900 vertical feet of relief in photo, but the lift does 2100 verts in 7-8 minutes.  I’m biased but it’s one of the best chairlifts in the East.  You are transported very quickly through different climate zones.

Lifts are legends, but also need to be replaced over decades. The Superstar lift will continue to be the flagship lift at Killington.  Seemed like a good party to celebrate the old lift.  30 years?!  I rode that thing in middle school.

Not trying to provoke anyone but where is this warmth after the 20th?  Was looking at the ensembles and doesn't look like anything more than a day or two above before back to normal or below for a couple of days.  Looks more like a roller coaster in temps.  Am I missing something?

Thanks for the great explanation!  So that lift goes up another 200 ft behind the crest there…right?  Can you post a picture of the next 200ft the lift travels, which I assume is part of the extra 500ft behind the crest you speak of in that picture..to show the Nose?  Whenever you get a chance?

56 yesterday, mildest so far by 4F.  (But only 3.5 AN - averages warming 0.5/day now.)

AM long term discussion, by Ekster/Legro, waxed a bit poetic.

Fri will be a bit of a transition day as a warm front approaches
from the southwest. NBM made a big shift in high temps
Sat...bringing widespread 60s and 70s in the local area. However
warm fronts often fail to breach the Lakes Region and often
result in heartbreak for those yearning for warmer days. The
upper air pattern is more favorable than normal for an advancing
warm front however...with building heights and surface high
pressure centered well southeast of the area. It is not a
favorable set up for sustained cold air damming. To give a
slight nod towards climatology I did blend in a bit of MEX
guidance to knock NBM temps down a couple of degrees.
