Recommended Posts

Below is the Chester County PA Climate Summary for March 2025. We finished with the 10th warmest March (avg. temperature 46.5 degrees) since records began back in 1893. The warmest March was back in 1945 with an average temperature of 51.6 degrees. This was our warmest March since the 47.1-degree average back in 2016. Precipitation was not too far from an overall average across the County finishing as the 62nd wettest out of 133 years with an average of 3.96" across the County. We experienced no measurable snow for the 20th time in our history and the 3rd time in the last 5 years.

Got to love the up and down temps lately. It was summer on Monday, fall on Tuesday, winter-like (at least in Hazleton) yesterday, and close to summer-like again today.

When does it snow... :P

I just got the answer to my question this morning from the NWS...

Sunday Night

Rain showers before 2am, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Low of 37.  The MJS crystal ball says we finish the month with a mean temp of 47.7, good for a tie with 2020 for the 6th warmest all-time.  Book it.

Circling back here, this ended up being one of my worst predictions ever haha, especially considering there were only four days left in the month at that point.  Those last few days of March came in much colder than originally forecasted.  Damn backdoor cold fronts and their overperforming tendencies ha.  Ended up at 47.1 for the month, good for 11th all-time.
