Sitting pretty here in my parts of the Poconos for tonight's event at 2,075' feet elevation.  It looks like it's official as well. I'm located in Southern Wayne county on the n.w portion of the Pocono plateau.

WWAs just to the east of me up here.

Current forecast now shows the potential for 2-5
inches of dense, wet snow over higher elevations (> 1900 feet)
in Delaware, Sullivan, Pike and Wayne counties by the time the
precipitation winds down Saturday afternoon.

Hey Neighbor! I see they have hoisted advisories for my area to your east. I would not be surprised to see Lackawanna and Luzurne counties for the higher elevations added in there as well. You guys should also get in on deformation fun!

Check out these two Penndot images this morning. One from I-80 near Long Pond, and the other up on I-84 near Blooming Grove/Promised Land State Park...

***edited to add the US22/I-476 interchange in Allentown. looks like flakes and some grass stickage there, but we've not had any flakes in Tamaqua. Dynamics must be pretty intense with this storm***

We received 1.32" of rain and melted snow. We ended up with 0.3" of snow this is the 7th time in the 22 years we have recorded measurable snow in April here in East Nantmeal The last time it snowed in April was back on April 2, 2018 the 2.5” of snow that fell that day was the most daily snow I have recorded here in EN. This is the 2nd latest measurable snow in a season behind only the 2.0" of snow that fell here on April 16, 2007. This brings our seasonal snow total up to 21.5" which is 61% of our average EN season snow total of 35.1"

30 degrees and moderate snow continues here in the Poconos. Having difficulty sticking even above 2k now. I measured 5.0" on the grass, 4.0"  on my deck and around 2.0" to 3.0" on the road and driveway. Gotta love late season wet snow lol. Beautiful late season event! Picture is looking down my road.

So far this April we are running 2 degrees below average temperatures for the month. So far for the year to date through yesterday we are running 0.5 degrees below normal in temperatures. If April finishes with below normal temperatures this will mark the 4th month out of the last 5 months with the exception of March that have finished below average. The next week looks to continue our run of below normal temperatures with the warmest day of the week in the lower 60's on Monday, which is not too far from our typical mid-April highs. With the rain and melted snow since yesterday we continue to take a serious bite out of any drought concerns as we are now up to 86% of normal precipitation so far this year which is only 1.83" below normal today. Our next chance of rain looks to arrive by Monday night.

Low of 38 with .51” of rain. Less than expected but everything is still plenty soggy over here. Lush green everywhere.

Just .38" fell here. Our daughter's family is spending the day down near Philly and she sent me a picture earlier of snow on the ground near the Peter J. Camiel service plaza on the turnpike.

Not having a good day and getting generally PO'd, so it's rant time...

Why do we always have to have 3-5 straight days of clouds and rain, and one to maybe two nice days? Why the hell can't we get just one day rain events followed by 3-5 nice days?

And don't get me started on the wind that follows nearly every storm.

I don't belong in the east, and really wish my wife was/would have been, open to moving out to Arizona.

Don't question our meteorological torture regime and get out there and enjoy the half a good day Sunday(minus the wind of course) and nice Monday before it flushes again

Look at this crap. Not even one full day of sunshine, and barely more than a day without light rain. Then more wind. When is this shit going to end?

Today
Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 55. North wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tonight
Increasing clouds, with a low around 37. Light northwest wind.
Monday
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
Monday Night
Showers likely, mainly before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tuesday
A chance of showers, mainly after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 58. West wind 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

The sun returns today, and we start a slow warming trend although temperatures will remain below normal through the upcoming work week. By Friday we should see temperatures near normal with finally some above normal days by Easter Weekend. The only rain chances look to be Monday night into Tuesday morning.image.png.d432f8e842d05e3ef77e059952680944.pngimage.thumb.png.ac4147e8b6ea6d922c8e7492b5ea9ec7.png
