In the 18 years I've been coming into Harrisburg, that may have been the most brutal April walk I've ever had.  The winds were absolutely howling through a couple of the alleyways.  Glad I broke out the winter jacket again.  Also, I have now received measurable precip on six consecutive days and eight of the last nine.  Carry on.

This morning was our first sub-freezing morning since April 2nd and our coldest morning since the 27.9 on March 27th. Behind the early morning cold front today's temperatures will be almost 20 degrees below normal for April with highs struggling to reach the lower 40's across the higher spots. The good news is we will see our first couple dry days in more than a week. A hard freeze will occur tonight with temperatures falling below freezing before 10pm tonight and lasting till around 9am tomorrow morning. So be sure to cover up or take in your sensitive plants. Tonight, will be our coldest April night since back on April 3, 2021 when the low was 26.3. We have an outside chance to reach our coldest April levels in almost 10 years if we fall to lower than the 24.5 degree low back on April 6, 2016. The below normal temperatures will continue all week with temperatures finally returning to near normal by early next week. Rain chances to ramp up again by Thursday afternoon and could last through much of Saturday. Current models have some significant rain amounts with between 1.25" and 2.00" of rain that could continue to ease any drought concerns.

31 was my low and I tacked on .05" since midnight.

1.57" over the weekend into early this morning, a whopping 2.88" since last Sunday. Biggest difference between the two of us occurred with the late week event when you reported .41" while I managed to receive 1.03".

What will the late week bring us this week? This was bumped up about .5" since yesterday morning:

That's some beneficial rain. I need to try to prep and seed the dog kill areas of my yard before the weekend to get some natural moisture into it.

I got very lucky - there was one wave that brought most in our forum a few tenths of an inch while I somehow got over 1". I'm ducking out early today to go home and try and mow the swamp.

I'm at 2.31" for that same time period.  Later this week is certainly looking juicier for our neck of the woods.  If we get another 1-2"+ things are going to be downright soggy in my yard.  Drought be damned.  What is your YTD total?  I'm at 7.52".

Oh man, you just reminded me of how much dog damage I have to repair this year.  We have two dogs in a fenced-in area and between the pissing and digging it's doing a number on my once-lush lawn.  Dogs, I love 'em but man they're a lot sometimes, especially when you have toddlers that take priority.

I had our girl trained to pee in a certain area I didn't care about. The last two years of her life, she struggled with mobility issues, among other things, so I just left her pee wherever it worked best for her.

So I post HERE about seeding and fixing my lawn, and suddenly I get Facebook ads for landscapers, Scott's fertilizer, and Pennington grass seed.

Unreal...

They care about you having a great lawn! They are just looking out for you. It's a wonder they didn't recommend a tanker co. to deliver water to you to keep the your planting area moist.

Until this past weekend you were running a decent amount ahead of me for 2025, but now I'm at 7.49".
