Yardstickgozinya
We are not the only ones enjoying this wet and stormy Sunday. This fellow found himself a thick girl but she's playing hard to get. Yardstickgozinya
Day
Yardstickgozinya
Could this be another system we maybe need to monitor as it heads east Monday or Tuesday ? There is nothing highlighted for day 8 yet but the spc discussion peeked my interest. On Monday, the trough is forecast to move eastward across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys, as a cold front advances quickly toward the Atlantic Seaboard. Thunderstorms with an isolated severe threat willbe possible along and near the front during the afternoon, but predictability is low concerning the timing of the front, and its associated trough. Voyager
We got 0.64" from the event. First round produced pea sized hail and 3/10ths in 10 minutes. The rest came in two other rounds that were nowhere near as intense. Winds in my backyard were meh, as usual, but I am in a very protected location.
Mount Joy Snowman
Current temp of 47 is the low. Only .42" of total pecip here. Man, those southerly winds were screaming yesterday, had a few friends commenting on just how strong they were and sharing pics of damage. "Opposite" winds can always wreak a special kind of havoc.

My son played a soccer game in those winds, and I've never seen anything like it. It made it difficult to do anything, really.

canderson
1.9” rain. The gradient for that system east to west is wild. MDT had less than 1” it appears.

Airpark a couple of tenths of a mile down the road reported a top wind gust yesterday of 38mph...I had that one gust that was WAY above that. Glad that @Festus backed me up because those were some legit High Wind Warning conditions mid-afternoon.

I've been in my home for 25 years (and paid off for 5 years!) and have never had any damage from prevailing N/NW/W oriented winds. But when southerly winds start howling, all bets are off. There was a period of time yesterday afternoon when I was feeling a lot of anxiety. Never felt that way in any of the windiest "cold direction" wind events.
ChescoWx
We picked up 0.44” of rain since yesterday…unfortunately quite a bit less than hoped. Today’s temperatures will be close to normal for mid-March with highs in the lower 50’s. A freeze is possible especially for lower elevations across the area by dawn tomorrow. We then warm up again into the 60’s through Thursday. Our next rain chances arrive on Thursday. It’s much cooler by Friday as we close out the work week.
