I'm not sure I've ever seen CTP start talking about winds 5 days prior to onset:

A tightening pressure gradient around this system will bring
the potential for strong winds throughout the weekend. This
risk of high winds has also been outlined via CPC`s D8-14
Hazards Outlook.

We already are in a day 6 15% hatch for severe weather. That has to be really rare here.

28.6 degrees for my low this morning.  Last night's low forecast was 35.  Not at all surprising with dew points in the twenties last night.  Almost certain to break 70 this afternoon which would be the warmest high year-to-date.  I'm definitely ready for spring.  That said, it's strange having temps nearly 20 degrees above average.  Today's average high here is 47.9 degrees while the low average is 27.3 degrees.  Each passing day adds roughly 0.3 degrees to the daily averages.

Yesterday's high temperature of 63.7 was our warmest day since last November 11th when we reached a high temperature of 66.2 After a frosty or freezing start this morning, we are off to the temperature races today with temperatures today likely to touch 70 degrees in some of the valley locations. This will be our warmest day since we hit 73 degrees back on November 7th. Much chillier tomorrow with the backdoor cold front coming from our still chilly Atlantic Ocean waters. Shower chances look to increase as we move through the upcoming weekend.

I posted a spc quick discussion about this two days ago . Spc has not released many details yet  in their discussion for sunday but  did initially mention that training precipitation could be a limiting factor for severe weather in the east on Sunday.

Point being they initially mentioned the Mid-Atlantic 8 days out.
