Damage In Tolland
As we ended another horrific winter in New England in late Feb.. folks were antsy to get the lawn thread fired up . Thoughts of thick , lush green lawns, pesticides, insecticides , Lesco, children and pets playfully running thru the lawns all are things to start thinking about in the coming days , as we get ready for another dewy summer. Let’s discuss your plans and things to get done here . 2

dendrite
So I posted about the American chestnut seedlings in last year’s thread. I contacted someone who I had a feeling was the seed supplier (Bill Deeter) and he confirmed they are the real deal and they came from one of his stands. Here’s the link again if anyone is interested. https://www.treepro.com/products/pure-american-chestnut-seedling

Damage In Tolland
Just can’t get any green up . Crazy how yellowed / browned out lawn are. There’s no green anywhere. I don’t ever recall it like this after a winter and then a warm, dry sunny Morch . We did go into winter with burned out lawns from the fall drought. And then deep frost into the ground . Them a winter of steady pack. And so far a dry spring overall . Mist just be a combination of things. There’s a few crocus shoots and Tiger Lillie’s just poking thru in sunny areas. But mainly a dead landscape.

backedgeapproaching
Section of my front yard going quick down to grass this week. Prob 70 percent green, with some snow mold too. Assuming the non stop snow cover from Nov helped.

Did you Stein right into Tgiving like we did or was it wetter ? I mean this as brown as I have ever seen it in spring here. Literally every lawn . dendrite
I’m guessing constant snow cover kept it from getting top killed or going dormant…whatever it does.

I dont think we steined like you guys did, but would have to check. Its definitely snowcover related. This is pretty unusual, its normally not this green. This is the first time living here I went wall to wall snowcover though too. (Outside of a couple days in JAN. My backyard has full snow cover still.
