Almost had a microburst look to it. I'm assuming the bow echo was able to bring down higher winds aloft, has weakened since

NorthHillsWx
Underwhelming seems to be the word associated with the line so far. Hopefully that continues but it is just now entering the enhanced risk area
jpbart
Around Columbia SC we had several tornado signatures on radar (3 or 4?) and tornado warnings posted. Storms overperformed a bit in the sever weather dept.

NorthHillsWx
Line looks weak sauce at the moment. I’d be shocked if the triangle gets stronger winds than we’ve already seen

We usually need some sun to begin with to get any severe storms here.
NorthHillsWx
RDU just gusted to 45. That’s in line with what I’m seeing here. Been several hours of gusts like this

olafminesaw
Comparing the 9z sounding to current on the HRRR, check out the lift on the left hand side, seems the drizzle was a result of subsidence, stabilizing the atmosphere (even though neither sounding has CAPE) 1

kvegas-wx
I was sitting in Walkertown this morning watching the black clouds roll through Winston and down HWY 158 during the tornado warning. Most notably was the tidal wave of rain that hit my windshield all at once. Not sure I can remember a scenario seeing a wall of water coming at me like that. Winds were gusty, but the rain intensity was legit monsoon for about 10 mins.

eyewall
These were taken near the intersection of Leesville Rd. and Lynn Rd. in north Raleigh as a tornado warned supercell embedded within a line came through. If a tornado was present it would have been wrapped in the rain shaft you see in the second shot. The first shot shows more of the overall structure and the base of the storm (taken at 12:14pm). The last shot is my position at the time compared to the radar image (Taken at 12:17pm). There was some localized tree damage the intersection of Leesville Rd and Millbrook road that was not present in areas surrounding. If it was from a tornado it would likely be EF-0 damage. 6

Brick Tamland
Sun is out now. I think the lack of sun before the storms develop and come through really limits the impact.
