I remember 1982 well it came after the 3rd lackluster winter post 79 adding to the crazyness.

Think I experienced sleet too late in the month near the 20th ot that might have been 83

January 1982 was a very cold and snowy month. (We haven't had a January colder than that one since then.) It pretty much saved the winter (as February and March were very lackluster). The April snowstorm pretty much iterated the potential that was there from January.

And yes, the April 19-20 snowstorm was in 1983, which was at the tail end of the super el nino. Amazing to think you can get a snowstorm 2 months from the summer solstice. It would be like if it snowed on August 21-22 on the other side of the solstice (I can't imagine that happening).

Trust me when I say it was lackluster the biggest snow was between 4 and 5" I was out hunting for big game like we had in 78 and 79 and I thought should always happen lol

Some radarscope user is reporting falling snow in Springfield! I assumed it was a joke.

Here in Media sleet with darting snow flakes we are west southwest of Philly so yes no joke 35f sleet and snow some sleet accumulation on the cars. It probably won’t last long once the sun works that 1-2 degrees of radiation will quickly put an end to any sleet and snow warm the surface just enough to change everything back to rain most areas except very highest elevations up north.  In addition the intensity of the precipitation is lightening up now so cold air transport to the surface is starting to break down now here.

Currently light rain and sleet mixed now lost the darting snow flakes.

Total Rain: 1.80”

less than .5 of snow. Flakes this morning were like pancakes. Received needed rain however 1.10 in. Going into the next week with much needed moisture for tree leaf out.  Feel good that the drought is going bye bye if this keeps up by the end of the month. Just bring on the 70's now. Want to turn off the heater. Cloudy 40-50  degree days  raise the utility bills for sure.

We received 1.32" of rain and melted snow. We ended up with 0.3" of snow this is the 7th time in the 22 years we have recorded measurable snow in April here in East Nantmeal The last time it snowed in April was back on April 2, 2018 the 2.5” of snow that fell that day was the most daily snow I have recorded here in EN. This is the 2nd latest measurable snow in a season behind only the 2.0" of snow that fell here on April 16, 2007. This brings our seasonal snow total up to 21.5" which is 61% of our average EN season snow total of 35.1"

So far this April we are running 2 degrees below average temperatures for the month. So far for the year to date through yesterday we are running 0.5 degrees below normal in temperatures. If April finishes with below normal temperatures this will mark the 4th month out of the last 5 months with the exception of March that have finished below average. The next week looks to continue our run of below normal temperatures with the warmest day of the week in the lower 60's on Monday, which is not too far from our typical mid-April highs. With the rain and melted snow since yesterday we continue to take a serious bite out of any drought concerns as we are now up to 86% of normal precipitation so far this year which is only 1.83" below normal today. Our next chance of rain looks to arrive by Monday night.
